Great run boys! Hats off to the Wings...they went down with a fight! This is sports you win some and you lose some...but truely it is how you do both that is the sign of a champion! To make a go of it as they did with all the odds agaist them we should be proud off this group! Good job......thanks for the effort!!!

Just listened to Pierre McGuire of TSN on Vancouver radio. He says he'd be shocked if Bert was in....said in the last game he was between the benchs, Bert was is absolute angony and sitting on layers of towels just to stay on the bench. Mentioned it was a gutsy performance from Bert to even attempt to go the last game and this is why he expects him out tonight. Expect Huds in. Either way, the guys just need to finish and play with no fear of losing and there will be a game 7!

Exactly right Matt - Unfortunately it is the lack of finsh that has killed us time and again.....we had the chances to blow this game open and did not get it done. All things being equal, if the Wings bury their chances on Tuesday night, there will be a Game 7....wheather they deserve it or not. It is all about FINISH!

Very excited to see how Stevie directs Team Canada. It would be great to see him succeed, given that this is his first shot as GM and he has to make the team up from guys not making the NHL playoffs. Good luck Team Canada and Stevie Y! I leave tomorrow for 3 weeks to go to the WIHC in Russia!! As I don't have a "SlingBox" I will be counting on LGW.com for the updates....Enjoy the playoffs....Go Wings!!

To add to that....Bert's career stats vs Calgary (NHL.com)....this idea that he can singlehandedly dominate the Flames is just plain wrong...I think alot of people have very unrealistic thoughts of Bert... Perhaps you have never played a competitive sport before.... ...but it will take Bert some time to get his legs... ...Flames are a different team on home ice... ...Wings have a winning formula as it is thus far.... ...you do not provide a momentum change for a fragile team down 2-0... All good reasons and very realistic....

...on the other hand...if they knock a rusty Bert around on their home ice, could be the momentum change the Flames need....I would keep Bert sitting.....

IMHO.....I don't think they should change a thing.....great game by today's line-up! Perhaps if game 3 does not go so well there could be reason to throw in Bert, but as it is, let him "rest" until a jump start is required. WAY TO GO WINGS!!

Absolutley correct. We know Calgary will be taking runs in order to pick up the physical dimension. The Wings will capitalize on strong positional play, and be successful on the resulting penalties on Calgary. This means we will defeat their "tough/gritty" game and leave them broken and down 2-0.

Tomorrow the Flames will play more physical and as a result will take more penalties. A blessing in disguse is that Bert won't be there to provide an offsetting opportunity. As long as the Wings keep their heads and allow the flames to parade to the box alone, I see Detroit having all the advantage to go up 2-0 in the series! Go WINGS!

I think I'll be interesting to see how Bert plays with the Flames this go around.....unfortunatley he has never once had success against them in his past performances, particularily in the playoffs. I can't wait to see what his imact will be...positive or negative....it will be clear to see as we have Game 1 without him to compare.

I agree Bert has to come back to the line-up...you have to put your best foot forward in each and every game...and I believe Bert is better then Sammy.... However....there is some concern. Unlike so many Wings fans that have not seen this guy play, I fear he will wake a sleeping giant in Iginla. When Iginla is hitting or being hit he is most effective....his team then rally's around him and Calgary takes on a new look. I have seen this dozens of times in games of Calgary v Vancouver. Bert smashes Iggy...Iggy then puts on a clinic of what a power forward should do. My only fear with Bert in the line up is it may inspire the Flames and turn out to have an opposite effect.

As a Wings fan who has seen Bert and Iggy play each other dozens of times I have a concern. The Calgary guy's comment above is bang on. I hope Bert is not so stupid as to go out and try to hammer Iggy or Phnuf for that matter. Many Wings fans have this misconception that Bert is a fighter.....he is not! He rarely fights and more often takes cheap penalties. Bert hitting on Iggy will serve as the same as the old days in Detroit when Stevie was hit. It gears up the whole team and actually drive momentum in the wrong direction. Again...I seen this happen many times over in the Calgary v Vancouver(Bert) days. The game the past night shows that Calgary was asleep. We do not need to wake them up

Bang on......it is kind of interesting this underdog position they find themselves in!! Maybe just the incentive needed to psych out the opposition. It is kind of like a B-52 flying under the rader???!!

Driving around for work today listening to the local sports radio. They had all the "pros" on from HNIC, TSN, Sportsnet, Reporters from many major newspapers around North America. Consensus is the Wings will go out in 6 or less and is will not be considered a major upset. Only one guy - the local Vancouver guy - says the Wings will "upset" the Flames! Detroit is getting so little respect it is laughable!! I know if the Wings play to their potential they should handle Calgary and if they step up a gear they will crush Calgary! I can't wait to get this going!! GO WINGS!!! Oh yeah....and the Vancouver Police have already prepared security plans for game night street party's. All the talk here is that they are the odds on favorites to take the Cup. Talk about sounding over confident???!!!!

I'm on your wave.... Detroit v Vancouver for the West. (I'd hate to see it but Van in 6 - been warning about these guys all year!) Ottawa v Buffalo for the East (toss up) I could really see an all Canadian match up in the works...If Luongo does hand stands.....if not then Detroit over whoever survives Buff v Ottawa.
