Bowman didnt just hand out ROSTER spots there kid .. Why not sign a insurance deal ? Howard wasnt spectacular in G.R and giving that he's not consistant in the AHL level how can u assume he will be for the 20 games hes plays? I'd hate to see the kid fall on his face and have Ozzie play more games then needed. I wouldnt let him rot in the AHL but there is a fine line of picking his time. who knows he might outplay Ty and get the spot ..

I would be all over that .. emery 1 yr @ 1 mill .. - its competition for Ozzie more than J-ho - He was a huge part of getting the Sens to the SCF - Face it the guy is good minus all the b/s he started in Ottawa if people could just get over the past then he could be a potential number one guy .. Zetterberg will have to take Datsuyk money (6.7 mill) .. cant sign another d (3 mill) .. and we would have to pass on resigning Sammy .. if the cap keeps goin up every year i dont see it not happening . hossa would have to take a pay cut to about 7 mill .. and i say f*** that pay him 6.7 !! lol nah it would be cool as s*** but holland has to do some serious number crunching

Downey is the s*** cuz he wears his heart on his sleeve .. from the past "enforcers" weve had he's the only one that can actually fight .. remember bootland? norton? dudes couldnt even accomplish their roles of being fighters.. Downey is hilarious for one and the guy is totally onboard for w/e the Wings management gives him .. I can see Kenny signing Holmquist as a backup to Ozzie . It would be nice to see how Jimmy H. can handle the new look griffins( the no vets just kids rule is now in effect ) and if he can hold them above water this year .. to me he is still to inconsistant to be thrown into 20 orso games and lose confidence. I'd think holmquist could come cheap and who the hell knows maybe even challenge Ozzie for the playoffs and turn around his career like most do in D-town

meech and quincy would be playing for that 6th spot and neither will get to crack the top 4 so why the hell not sign lilja ... meech cant play on the PK ... same can be said about quincey so i see no gain in losing Lilja ... quincy and meech will not blow us away if they get the mins for experience anyways .. they will always be 6th or 7th d man on this squad and nothing else ... im not trying to be negative about them but i dont buy into hes a foot slower than the forwards cuz hes older now so play the kids s***
