Yea...I get it...people are always going to throw around those stereotypes. But yea, there are Wings fans coming to our boards pulling the "redneck/hick" bulls***. I don't know if they are members of these boards, nor do I care. But I'm just asking for the same respect that I would show you if you came to talk about hockey on the Nashville boards. I just wish you wouldn't judge me or my knowledge of hockey based soley on where I reside. I don't think it's too much to ask. I would think that you all would like to hear from other fans just to spice things up, but maybe I'm wrong. It just seems dull to me, to only here the opinion of your team's fans. I always enjoy other fans coming to the Nashville boards to talk hockey. But having to wade through all the stereotypes and other bulls*** can be quite a deterrent.

To all Red Wing fans who were decent enough to talk about hockey, I thank you. To all of you who continue with the typical Tennessee stereotypes, I hope that you will one day be educated. Tonight was a great game from two injury plagued teams...I don't think the battle for the Central division crown is over and it should be an exciting finish. I feel as if some of you aren't intelligent enough to come up with anything other than stereotypical bashing. Maybe in the past it was easy to dismiss Nashville fans because we were always cellar dwellers, but now that we have a great team you can only resort to the typical, Southern stereotypical bulls***. It's too easy to say "Nashville is full of rednecks" or "Detroit is full of criminals". I ask all of you, Nashville and Detroit fans alike, to quit being small-minded f***heads and to just talk about the game itself. Thanks.

I was just wondering if you guys ever get fed up with Chelios complaining to the refs? Honestly? I'm not trying to bash or anything, I just seriously want to know if you guys notice it or its just something fans from other teams notice. It just seems to me like he can't ever just let it go...he always has to dispute it for at least 30 seconds. I'm all for captains bringing stuff to the refs' attention, but it just seems a little bit ridiculous when it comes to Chelios.

Detroit was very lucky that the refs didn't deem that a penalty shot. I'm not sure what they were thinking, but whatever.

Oh I completely agree. It's almost like they purposefully seek those ratty fans out. I hang my head in shame when I see stuff like that. Don't get me wrong...there are still quite a few dumbass Preds fans who still don't understand hockey after 10 years of having an NHL team. But hockey is starting to become part of the community around here. Youth and High School involvement is growing at a rapid pace. If only the local businesses could get their heads out of their asses and see how beneficial the Preds are to them. Oh and we aren't helping get rid of our stereotypes when we have NASCAR promotion nights and Best Mullet contests, with Billy Ray Cyrus performing during the intermissions. Billy Ray Cyrus is the worst thing that has ever happened to music. That is all. Go Preds!

Here's a big f*** YOU to whoever predicted another injury to the Preds in yesterday's GDT.

A few years ago, Nashville had a bunch of decorated catfish statues all around the city. They had different themes, like a Gibson Guitar catfish or a Boy Scout catfish. There was one right in front of the GEC. I always thought they were pretty lame, and I guess other people did too because they were replaced by the large, themed guitar statues. I assume that the first person to throw a catfish thought it was clever because, at the time, the catfish was an icon in Nashville. I think it's great that Nashville is beginning to have their own little traditions. I don't understand why you can't just let us have something like that. Aren't you the least bit honored that the Red Wings are the team to mimic? Also, I really wish you all could get past the stereotype of people from Nashville being inbred rednecks. I feel like it hinders us from having intelligent conversations about hockey. It's just stupid. I go to a top university and my hometown is in the top 10 for wealthiest cities per capita. I just really wish everyone could get past the stereotypes for both cities. Not everyone in Detroit is a poverty-stricken criminal, nor does everyone in Nashville sleep with their sister. I can't wait for the game tonight...I hope it lives up to the hype!
