Where's the fire? Seriously, supposedly Babcock isn't passive behind the bench. What needs to happen for this time to get a fire lit under it's collective ass? This is the most pathetic effort I've seen in a long time - probably since the LA King series in 2001. No fire, no defense, no offense and sure as hell their "crisp passing and sharp skating" isn't going to win s*** in the playoffs without a consistent intensity that this team honestly has NOT shown all year long in the first place.

That would take a dynamic playmaker who is also a goal-scorer. Essentially, that would take Feds pre-1998..... I love Z but he's not in Feds league from back in the day. Someone channeling Ovechkin right now would be nice too.....

Everyone not named Lidstrom who is 35 and over should be cut or traded this off-season. It's time for a younger and more energetic team to be on the ice. Veteran savvy is nice, but it won't win you a cup if you are too old/slow/hurt/declining to do anything about it. I don't care if they lose tonight (they probably will but I'll be thrilled to be wrong too) or win the damn Cup, it's time....

You are completely correct sir. Although actually I'd say this is the most physical Wings team since 2000. 2002 won one tremendous skill and some grit but not nearly as much as the mid-late 90s and 2000 team had.

Dude Columbus ALWAYS plays their best games against Detroit it seems. They could (and have) lose games to crappy teams all year long and they can't touch friggin Nashville for whatever reason, but they always bring it when they play Detroit. considering how short-handed the Wings are and given that LeClaire was literally keeping this game close for Columbus (always a problem for Detroit when they run into a hot goalie), I'll take it. Hell if Columbus played the rest of the West like they play Detroit every night, they'd have over 100 points themselves, but they don't have the scoring for it.
