I'd say the chances of the NHL expanding any more in the near term (say 10 years or so) is really about slim to none.

Giggy beat the Wings because he turned it up on the 5 on 3s.... Other than those times, he was pretty average I agree..... There are times when you can completely outplay your opponent and they still win the game. If Detroit comes out with the same effort and intensity in the JLA on Sunday, chances are it'll be a win....

I just like how the Wings can't ever POSSIBLY lose without someone on this forum blaming the refs. Both teams have to deal with them people. the Wings need to play better, but this game is far from over. Selanne was due for a goal in the first place. So now maybe he'll go back into hibernation for the rest of the series.....

Pronger has the physical game to compete with Nick, but Nick is LIGHTYEARS ahead of Pronger in the mental department. Always has been, always will be. Add to that Lidstrom is one of the classiest players in the league. Pronger is anything but and generally when he tries to be a goon, he either hurts himself or gets suspended.

If Detroit gets past Anaheim, I don't care who it is. Why? Because I think the East is siginificantly weaker this year than it was last year AND either the one or two seed from the West is going to be playing for the Cup this year, instead of the 8 seed like the past 3 years.

I think he might finally be getting into the groove of things in Detroit. The past couple games have looked better at least. Remember the guy didn't play for 4 months? 5 months? Sometimes that takes a while to get things moving again....

When someone ties it into the officiating, you're damned straight I'm calling them a whiner. I understand financial difficulties. Been there, done that. I understand not wanting to go because you think they'll lose for whatever reason. Been there, done that in other sports. But justifying or at least attempting to justify not going because of cost is one thing, but throwing in the reffing (and a conspiracy theory to boot) is quite another. as for the CFB, 7 games, 2 tickets each, all within the 30s and in the lower shoe on the home side (meaning actual seats and not just a bench). I just don't know the actual locations yet because they haven't told me.

This series could be over by Wednesday and then Ottawa will get to sit and watch as the Ducks and the Wings beat the holy hell out of each other...... But I think this series illustrates the overall weakness of the Eastern Conference this year.

Fresh legs are nice, but I wonder if they need to break out the WD-40 to get the rust off of him.... But unless I miss my guess, it isn't like he's coming off the street and into a uniform. Game speed will take an adjustment, but I'm certain he's been practicing for the better part of the past month. Right?
