you don't lose two surefire hall fo famers in Rafalski and Lidstrom and replace them with basically nothing, you don't replace a guy like Hossa with nothing and you don't replace the scoring from Hudler with Sammy ( ) and expect things to remain the same. Sorry but the utopian view of the Wings reloading this year is naive at best. The West has 12 teams better than the Wings right now, including Nashville. Just so you're aware, I've seen just about every minute of the BJ's since opening night and they haven't played nearly as well since opening night and the scores reflect that.

Have you seen them play? They were taken to the very limit and could have easily lost the game against Columbus. Columbus isn't good. If this team is .500 it will be a miracle and Babs will have to be a coach of the year candidate.

Much better? I kind of doubt it. After the top line on this year's Detroit team, the scoring potential is rather limited it seems....

It's good to stay positive, but let's be realistic. This team can't come within 10 light years of the defense that Devils team played.

This team looked good in the 1st two periods and couldn't beat a damned AHL team. They look pathetically slow on the ice right now.....in person it looks horrible...how does it look on TV?

The Wings seem to have more energy, but thank God for that Lashoff goal...columbus is a much improved team from this point last year at least.

The effort on defense has been mostly there. They have been skating hard all night. Like I said earlier, goals are going to be at a premium with this roster unlike some previous incarnations

Let's just say I'm in the "wait and see" group right now. Until the Wings prove they want to be on the ice, and they sure as hell didn't on Saturday night, there is no way of expecting a win. Add to that Columbus looked energetic and physical against Trashville, and the equation right now doesn't add up in Detroit's favor. hopefully I'm wrong, but we'll just have to wait and see.....

This entire team has it's head up it's ass. When you lack overall talent as well, it's a pathetic combination. The NHL needs to institute a running clock when one team is up by 5 goals, just to get bulls*** games like this over. If someone had a pair they'd be fighting right now but they don't - the Wings are WAYYY too soft to play in this league right now.
