I'm the last one to be on the ledge. I'm WATCHING Columbus do to Nashville what STL is doing to Detroit and we know how Nashville plays too. Unless Detroit figures out something and fast, they aren't beating anyone in the division. The Wings have lost too much and it's too much for Z and Datsyuk to handle on their own. This team has the least amount of talent on it since the mid 80s at the very least, so yes, it's not far off to say this is the worst Wings team in nearly 30 years. Reality, it sucks, doesn't it?

4-0 - this is pathetic. Something tells me this game film won't be used for much more than to show them they suck. There isn't one thing to gain from this performance other than there is always another game. I'm watching Trashville and Columbus - they are both better squads than Detroit is right now IMO

Here's the deal though - a great deal of the Penguins fanbase idolize the pedophile-enabling Joe Pedterno as well. So some hero-worshipping is already deeply engrained within their fanbase.

Columbus is a front-running town to a certain extent. If the CBJ are playing well, the crowds will be there. If they aren't, then you'll see crowds like what they had last year. I don't think it has much to do with the lockout.

LA was comfortably in the playoffs at 95 points last year. With a 23 game winning streak, one of the best d-men ever, another good d-man in Stuart and Hudler having a career year, the Wings had 102 points. I don't see how the Wings will be any better than 90-93 points with this current roster right now.

Meanwhile look at the ROSTERS. Granted LA didn't have a defenseman on the level of Lids, but they sure as hell are better top to bottom on defense (and even in goal) with the Wings. They traded their best d-man, replaced him, gained some scoring and ended up winning the Cup. The Wings AREN'T built the same way, they lack the scoring punch they've had in recent years AND they lost not one but TWO top-4 d-men. And they didn't replace them with quality pieces. The wings won't miss the playoffs, but don't expect anything other than a 7 seed at best. And if they DO miss the playoffs it's time for Holland to go. Plain and simple. The downward spiral is quickening.

I think you are mostly correct, but until they don't make the playoffs and/or accumulate 100 points in the regular season, the dynasty is still intact, although it's power is clearly waning. The Wings need an infusion of youth and talent in the top 6. I think any Wings fan should be able to see that.

Thank you Lids. If this is your last game in a Wings jersey, thank you for making literally 2/3rds of my life enjoyable from October to May almost every single year. Well let's see... You're likely to be replacing a legend on defense, your scorers are getting older and you're also losing another top 4 defenseman in Stuart. Your goalie does fine, but there's a lot of secondary scoring but not a lot of game-changers other than Z and Dats. Franzen should be exiled to siberia.
