Wouldn't I want to see the memo sitting in the Buttman Radio show producer's inbox saying to NOT take any calls from Red Wings fans or anyone asking about that goal in general. I'd think about seriously putting some money down on this bulls*** NOT getting any mention tomorrow on his stupid show that no one really listens too.

now that i've calmed down a little The Wings passing was off all game, unlike the columbus game were they didn't miss anything passing-wise, this game every pass seemed to hit a skate or a shinpad or a stick or something. They weren't sharp by any means. It's obviously very possible the Stars would have still won the game had the goal which was incorrectly called a no-goal counted. They did outplay the Wings. But this will get lost in the noise. And yes I REALLY hope there's a ton of noise. This was garbage.

He can't deal with life without the attention garnered here. He'd rather pontificate with his head in the sand about this stupid ******* league.
-
Three words for ya: Sid and Stanley You can't tell me they didn't have that ******* show planned to film in April of 2008. Yeah and some of us put their heads in the sand....
-
Yeah and Malkin shouldn't have been suspended for that bulls*** during the finals either right? f*** the NHL. If it's not a conspiracy, it's incompetency. I don't know which is worse.

Hasn't Stephanie LaRue made some seriously s***ty calls against Detroit before?

f*** THE NHL f*** THESE REFS I'M ******* DONE WITH THIS GODDAMN LEAGUE. I STILL LOVE THE WINGS, BUT I WILL NOT CONTRIBUTE ONE MORE GODDAMN DIME TO THIS ******* LEAGUE NOR ANY OTHER FRANCHISE BY BUYING THEIR MERCHANDISE OR THEIR ******* TICKETS OR WATCHING THEIR STUPID ******* GAMES. THIS IS A ******* TRAVESTY. And yes I'm on the conspiracy theorist train now too. f*** this bulls***.

I went to the BJs-Ducks game last night. The BJs has absolutely no business being in that game at all. Lot's of turnovers and missed passed and bad passes all around. But the Ducks couldn't put them away or even score more than 2 goals. Usually the team will come out fired up after that type of loss, but it was a very physical and up and down the ice type of game. I think if the Wings come out and keep up the pressure, they'll win easily. If they revert back to their bad defensive ways, the Wings might find themselves in a dogfight with a desperate team.

NEVER EVER EVER EVER BACKHAND A PASS INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE ICE WHEN ON THE POWER PLAY IN YOUR OWN ZONE -

Even when they do finally outwork Toronto in the offensive zone they can't get a shot home. -

This team needs to answer the SJ goal early on in the 4rd, otherwise I don't have a good feeling about this game. They are dominating the puck but they aren't scoring. We've seen this song and dance before I'm afraid. -
Columbus another in line for possible relocation

And I like having an NHL hockey team (or at least one posing as one) within an hour's drive of the house. -

I don't see this happening anytime soon. While the report stays $12 million last year, that was on the arena lease and other corporate dealings, not the NHL franchise specifically. Factoring the NHL franchise money, the loss is more like ~$7 million give or take. Given that the report came out from the chamber of commerce affiliated group, this is more of a pre-emptive strike because the BJ's organization has been trying to re-work the deal with Nationwide on the lease itself. I don't think the team will be going anywhere. The owner still has megabucks from his dad and Worthington Industries so I doubt he'll be selling it anytime soon. -
Typical head-up-his-ass-who-doesn't-see-the-flaw-in-his-logic poster. look at my first post, which both questioned your obvious bias AND hoped the kid was ok (which I know how he's in critical condition, which sucks). The problems are on your end, not on me being a "typical forum troll". If you don't want to get questioned when you make threads like this, don't make the stupid thread.
-
So if you already had your mind made up, why start the thread with scant evidence when you KNOW people are going to tell you otherwise? Just for the sake of arguing?
-
I guess I'm not seeing why it's considered a dirty hit....this isn't some sissy sport like Soccer or anything. I mean it absolutely sucks that the kid got hurt and no one wish that on anyone, but it looked pretty clean to me. Injuries happen in contact sports. It's a drawback sometimes. Hope the kid is ok.

lidstrom needs to remain consistent, especially with the younger players.

Tom Henke reference.....what the hell, no Junior Felix? They used to always kick my Orioles' asses BTW I'm loving all of the cal Ripken references too
-
I always thought that Yzerman and Ripken were too very similar people and players and they both handled themselves and their careers in much the same way. It is kind of ironic to note that Ripken was more successful early on (and played better D early on) while Yzerman was better offensively early on and committed himself to defense when Scotty got a hold of him. But both of them were revered more for how they played the game and how they led their teams and team mates than anything else.
-
Hockey: Steve Yzerman Baseball: Cal Ripken Jr Football: Orlando Pace and/or Eddie George. I always liked Jim Lachey too. Basketball: I don't really follow basketball.
-
Yzerman was and is the reason I started following the Wings. At first it was because my Detroit relatives were pushing everything MIchigan/Detroit at me, but through the late 80s and early 90s as I started to really like hockey, I really liked the way he played the game.

Hudler's ripping it up over there!

the KHL isn't exactly the Finnish Elite league. They play no defense. 19 points would be nice, but he wouldn't have more than 5 or 6 in the NHL and you all know it.
