as if the NHL is about the fans being able to watch the games. They want you who can't see the game to ***** to the cable companies that don't carry it. I'd personally watch it over the internet if I couldn't get it on my DirecTV.

Why? Kopy is a big body who wasn't playing overly bad this series. You don't want to lose ANY players at this time in the season.

Leino is a first or second line style of player but the Wings don' t have any readily available spots there. Maltby (when he's on his game and he has been on his game such as it is) is suited to be the 4th liner where the spot would be open. So No.

in Cheli's defense he had a very good shot (I know I know) last game that very nearly was deflected by Hiller but the Ducks dman. It was on net though.

I want to see the Wings play with the lead for more than a minute in this series. Come on boys! Prove me wrong about you being gutless, heartless, ball less and needing an attitude change!!!

errr umm Sammy has been one of the better players for the Wings this series. Yes it's that bad.

They need to shake things up. This falls completely on Babs, Lids and Zetterberg IMO. This team looks completely directionless.

lookie there, another soft euro player is completely unwilling to play anywhere BUT on the boards, turns the puck over because his soft Euro and Canadian (and I think Lebda was out) American teammates don't support him and Anaheim nearly scores to put this series away. What a gutless group of people that this "team" is made of. They have shown absolutely NO heart since the Winter Classic and it's showing up big time in this series.

this thread has to be a joke. Rafalski si better than Meech and/or Chelios and Lebda. He's better than Sammy at the point on the PP. He's a very good passer and when he's on only Nick is a better puck moving defenseman in the NHL.

darn....guess what I don't really care. The Wings have ONLY played a handful of full 60 minute games all year long, this isn't like it's a new behavior or anything. The ref's call(s) is(are) ONLY giving people an excuse on here to ***** about something when the entire performance SUCKED. Hell if Anaheim was Vancouver or Chicago or even Boston or Pittspuke, Detroit wouldn't have lost by one goal on a very bad call. It would have been 6-1 or so. It was a gutless performance for 40 something minutes in this one. You can't do that in the playoffs I don't care if your top line is Guy LaFleur, Wayne Gretzky and Steve Yzerman with a defense of Lids and Bobby frikin Orr.

It'll go one of two ways 1. it'll fire them up, they'll have Rafalski and they will go back to Detroit tied at 2. Or 2. This game really took the wind out of their sails and that call just iced it. They'll get murdered in game 4 and then go on to lose game 5 in Detroit. One or the other.

Not really a panic button issue. more of a "this team has no heart or grit and the Ducks have taken what they had right out of them" type feeling right now. I'm not even that pissed about the ref's call anymore really. It's just a realization that a bad call was able to cost them a game they should have won had they played THEIR game instead of shooting from the boards for 50 minutes of it.

Now take it for granted that I'm comparing college and pro sports here, but that display AFTER the game was as gutless as it was during the game. The body language is that of a team that just doesn't care. In college if a team shows that kinda body language, they get blown out in their NEXT game. Usually pro teams aren't as susceptible to this but we will see.

Sure the refs suck. Sure that call sucked. But if the Red Wings don't play like ballless wonders for 40 ******* minutes (or 80 if you count the OTs), this series is at worst 2-1 Wings and probably 3-0. NOw they are facing a must win game in game 4, without Rafalski in all liklihood, without Draper (even with him it's not an improvement), with 90 year old Chelios and Meech on the blue line and star players with absolutely NO heart. This team was so gutless for so much of this game Chris goddamn Pronger was clowning Datsyuk. It's over. Let Hossa go. convince Homer and Drapes and Maltby that it's time to go. Bring the kids up and hope that chicago or Columbus don't take the division away next year.
