2/15 GDT: Avalanche 6, Red Wings 5 (SO)

The most popular guy on the team is always the backup QB or the backup goalie. BTW Flip is owning this game.... -

hudler! -
I think I saw a post earlier on this season that had Columbus with the most back to back games (I think the number was 20 or something like that)..... Now I know having 16 sucks, but hell at least we KNOW the Wings are going to make the playoffs. The BlowJackets might finally have a team worthy of the 8 seed but may run out of gas (they have some young players playing key roles) due to the schedule. That would REALLY suck IMO.

You mean the win over Minnesota or the game against Columbus where he kept it close even though his defense had no energy or jump? -
2/13 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Blue Jackets 3

Having been at the game I have these observations (seeing as this thread has again degenerated into a blame Osgood no matter what type thread due to some of you).... 1. The ONLY reason the game was anywhere close is because of Ozzie. From the stands it looked mostly like a team that was running on empty. The very first thing a lot of the people around me said, both Blue Jacket and Red Wings fans, was that the Wings looked sluggish. Turnovers happen, but usually when a team gets outworked along the boards and doesn't get to seemingly ANY loose pucks, that team gets destroyed. 2. The first 2 goals were hard luck type goals that have been plaguing Detroit all year long. Especially the 2nd one. If that puck bounces right instead of left Ozzie smothers it and it's no goal. It was amazing that he even got a piece of that one. The 3rd goal he should have had though. 3. Steve Mason is a friggin beast. He might have the best glove in the NHL. 4. Even playing at the end of a very long week of games, Detroit still had a good chance to win against a decent Columbus team. -

Going to the game also....the wife and I made a weekend out of it The entire Blue Jacket team has had the flu since the Pittsburgh game last week, so I'm afraid they may be getting over it. However Detroit is playing much better than the first game after the ASG. I'll say Detroit 3-2 in OT. -
Koivu made a play. Even the omnipotent Red Wings will give them up from time to time. Let it go.

Only an inbred Pittspuke fan gives Cindy a B for "the effort" About the only thing Crysby did yesterday that showed any aggressiveness was getting into a shoving match with Sammy, which Sammy wasn't even aware he was in for nearly 10 seconds, and to slash Maltby above the boot. Pathetic. He also says the Hossa backhander was from "40 feet away". I guess the rink is now 400 feet long or something
-
LOL at the NBC honks being VERY depressed after the Hossa goal and nearly catatonic after the 2nd Dats goal.
-
even without the roids, Crysby can't hold A-Rod's jock from a talent standpoint. but they trade purple lipstick ideas to each other
-
Must resist....cannot stop myself..... Too late, Cindy has already blown his load, now the NHL and Bettman are waiting for the reach-around.....
-
it'll be funny if Crysby tries that little cross check thing he did to Sammy to someone crazy, like, Cleary who'll then hit Crysby with a right cross and make cindy cry even more
-
because you know, you dipf***s on NBC, Detroit's players are ALWAYS LOOKING to cheapshot Cindy Crysby. Isn't that right? ******* retards.
-
f*** Pittsburgh.

Columbus has written the book on beating San Jose when they've played them in Columbus this year (I fully understand they lost both games to SJ in SJ).... pressure the puck and most importantly, be physical with their playmakers like Thornton and Setiguchi and Marlowe. They hate being hit and it showed tonight. Columbus came out and was physical with them and San Jose had no rhythm all night long. If SJ had been playing a team with any real consistent offense outside of Rick Nash they would have lost 5-2 or something like that.
-
As a side note, I'm watching the Blow Jackets take it too the Sharks. Joe thornton is still a walking ******. Except this time he isn't waiting until the playoffs to morph into it, he showed up as it tonight.

8 goals! In THIS economy?!?!?!? (good God I hate that saying) TRAVESTY!!!
-
holy hell!!!
-
gotta stop the puck. Babs shoudl take a time out
-
f*** the Wirtz family. Of course they would prevent the league from putting a franchise in a city were it would succeed. After all, Bill Wirtz did his damnedest to kill one of the more storied franchises in the NHL for nearly 20 years.
-
well I was close....
-
I wish, but Edmonton will play well above their heads and keep it down to 6-1 or so
-
I would think Milwaukee would be a pretty decent spot if Phoenix has to move. that sets up instant rivalries with Chicago and Minnesota and would allow Columbus to move to the East so they MIGHT make the playoffs by 2015
-
LOL at the announcers making fun of the refs calls....
