You are aware that the Wings just signed Samuelson to a 3 year deal before this season began right??? The only way he's leaving the Wings early is by trade, and I kinda doubt that'll happen to make room to resign Schneider. As for Markov, chances are he won't come back after this year. But you're still scraping rock bottom if you want to do whatever it takes to resign Schneids.... If he wants to break the bank with one last contract, it probably won't and probably shouldn't be with the Wings.

Trust me, if any re-alignment happens (and it won't now with pittsburgh seemingly getting their arena deal done), it'll be Columbus moving and NOT Detroit. The Columbus management doesn't think it can compete with the elites in the West. They might be right. In the East they wouldn't be a playoff team yet, but they'd be closer there (and would've been closer last year as well) than in the West.

For what the Wings will end up having to pay to resign him, I don't know if it's in the best interests of the team to keep him on at this point.... Maybe I'm way off base here, but the Wings need to complete their youth movement.

Yep on the GDT I pointed that out a couple times because the Nashville game feed was the one I could see. Friggin homers. The Columbus Blue Jackets TV crew is the same way. Normally they are pretty good unless the Jackets are playing Nashville or Detroit, then it's all homer all the time. So hitting a guy squarely with your elbow in his friggin EAR is borderline?
