Downey is the man, I got to meet him at chelis chili after the phoenix game last week and he was nice as could be and I let him know how much we appreciate him here and that i hoped he stuck around. One awesome dude.

We need a top 4 physical D man. Lilja is NOT a top 4 Physical d man which he is currently being used as. Im not bashing lilja, these are just facts.
-
will get to get a good look at this guy in the WJC, along with some other good wings prospects.

went to the game last night and it was awesome! glad to see the Wings pull out the win and Z was amazing. But the highlight of my night was when I went to Cheli;s chill after the game, and a bunch of Wings showed up, Cheli was there, Drake, malts, huds and Downey they were sitting right by me and I went over and shook all thier hands and got my shirt signed, it was sweet!!

Roy and Tarnasky Drake is sporting a half shield tonight so mabye he could go but I doubt it. Maybe Lilja will go 2 games in a row also doubt that but I hope im wrong. 5-3 for Wings Go Wings

I love the Joe, I'd be sad to see it go.... When you first walk in, it's like your walking into a bomb shelter, It's almost kinda comforting, then when you get out to the rink and see that beautiful view you could care less about a new arena.

you actually make a very good point. Why not bring Mac back next year to fill Drakes role next year. I would love to see the Grind line re-united
-
Well at least they had some form of live entertainment. Good place to see fights

Lilja has been good the last two games. He saved a goal the other night and stuck up for huds after he got crushed tonight. I wonder when does Drake get the mask of anyways, maybe he wont fight because he will be afraid to injure his cheekbone again.

was it his left leg or right? because you don't use your left leg to drive unless you drive a stick. Im kinda worried thought Franzen had a Sprained Knee and was out for a month, and Drapes is alot older than Franzen so it could take him longer... Hopefully he comes back ASAP we need him to win key face offs and on the PK. Can't replace a guy like Drapes.

another loss for the Leafs tonight in the shootout, shouldn't have even been there in the first place but Sundin bailed them out and got the tying goal with 15 seconds left. Got to admire that guys heart. The Leafs right now just cant get it done losers of 7 of their last 8 games, I think the JFJ expired date is within days.

That is awesome news I really hope that rule is changed immediately after this year. Players must be held accountable, it's only a matter of time before someone will end someones career...again

Wings dismiss Leafs rumours Windsor Star Team execs reportedly on Toronto wish list Dave Waddell, Windsor Star Published: Tuesday, November 27, 2007 DETROIT - If the Toronto Maple Leafs are seeking front office help, Red Wings general manager Ken Holland says they'll have to look elsewhere than Detroit. With rumours intensifying about the possible firing of general manager John Ferguson Jr., the Toronto media are offering plenty of free advice on who should get the job with the names of Holland, assistant GM Jim Nill, vice-president Steve Yzerman and former coach Scotty Bowman being liberally tossed about. "No one from the Leafs has contacted me or asked permission to talk to anyone in our organization that I'm aware of," Holland said, as the Wings prepared to host the Calgary Frames tonight (7 p.m., Versus). "I'm aware of the names being mentioned but everyone is happy here. I'm happy here. As far as this Toronto stuff is concerned, let me put it to you this way, I don't expect anybody to be leaving Detroit soon." While he dismissed any interest in the Toronto job, the Maple Leafs aren't likely to find a warm reception from Nill either. In fact, Holland said the Leafs already missed their chance to hire Nill. "Jim was part of the interview process three, four or five years ago for the Toronto job," Holland said. "They interviewed him and they chose not to hire him. I doubt he'd be interested now." When asked recently about the Leafs' job, Nill said he still wasn't interested in the Toronto job. "Why would I want to go there?" said Nill, who confirmed he has turned down GM job offers from other teams over the years. "The way we do things here, I've already got most of the responsibilities and input that a general manager would have. Ken and I work really well together. "I'm comfortable, I'm well-compensated and I like the organization. I know which side my bread is buttered on." Even if the Leafs were interested in either Holland or Nill, it would be unlikely they'd even get the chance to speak with them. Both are under contract through 2010 and the Wings have the right to refuse anyone permission to talk to them about leaving Detroit. The Leafs did contact Wings senior vice-president Jimmy Devellano around last June's draft about talking to Bowman and received permission to approach the 74-year-old retired coach. EARNED THE RIGHT "Scotty told me he just wanted to listen to what they had to say," Devellano said."We wouldn't prevent him from doing what he wanted to do. He's earned that right. "After talking to them, he told us he wasn't interested in the Leafs because he didn't know those people (Leafs ownership). "He's happy here doing consulting, some scouting for us and traveling a bit with the team. He and Mike Babcock have a great relationship and talk just about every day." As for Yzerman, Devellano said he has settled nicely into his vice- president's role and has repeatedly said how much he enjoys apprenticing under Holland. The Wings are also compensating Yzerman handsomely. Devellano dismissed the threat of a Toronto raid on the Wings' front office as being more the product of a hyperactive media market. "Our people are sexy, who wouldn't want them?" Devellano said "But they all have contracts and I don't think they want to go anywhere. "The media in Toronto are dreaming in Technicolor."

That is such a good idea for a sign. I will be at the game this Saturday against the Yotes. Maybe I will make that sign

Kool, I live in London and go there sometimes, decent place but not my type of crowd...
-
IMO, he will turn into the next Kipper. I'd Love to see the Wings go after him in the offseason.
-
Yes MORE Scotty rumors..... there has also been talk of bringing in someone with star power such as Stevie, Moose, or the Franchise... don't know how i'd feel if Stevie ever took over there.. it be mixed emotions for sure.

Langkow and I would like to see Kenny try to pry Mike Richards out of Philly.

Easily my favourite Wings game of the year so far. Great goals, saves, hits and fights. What more could you ask for? well a Wings win would be nice
-
I hope Downey goes for the Hat Trick!!!
-
Dom will be fine.
-
still no GDT? I would do one but I don't know what to do....
-
yep, I saw he wanted to fight Cowan and Cowan is a tough guy but he wanted nothing to do with Boogey lol
-
How Ironic, Boogaard smashes Fedoruks face in and now they will be patrolling the ice together. But why would Minny want another enforcer....
