    Do you play hockey?

well I am now retired at the tender age of 22, but I will try to get a picture up in a bit.... Started skating at around 3 and started playing when I was 4 or 5, and played until I was about 19. Would like to get back into some type of league. but i refuse to play in beer leagues, I need to find a league where I can go all out and hit and fight if need be.

    Bowman AGAIN denies having contact

leave it to the Toronto media to make stuff up. I was watching sportcenter last night (TSN VERSION) and scotty was just seen by the ACC going to some meeting or something(nothing to do with leafs) and they automatically think he might want to join them. Scotty like his role here (I think) and he's to old to try and rebuild a franchise IMO.

    Eklund Article

Eklunds source is his dart board in his moms garage. He has a dart for each team and a bunch of players pictures on it. Whichever team dart he throws, and depending on where it lands, thats where the player goes. E5

    Eklund Article

got to give it to Peklund, he's a pretty damn funny guy, I read his blog everyday now LOL "So I am interested in knowing how this guy keeps getting idiots to pay him money? Can any of you tell me? I'd really like to know. I mean he has no more sources than you or I do. Yet people still think he does. Are people really this stupid? It's pretty sad isn't it? So we know Eklund has lied about his identity. He has come on his own site under different aliases and defended himself. HE even came on my site and threatened to take my internet away. LOL The way I see it is Eklund is a little boy who is a total fraud who disguises himself under an alias which allows him to be someone he "wants to be." You see he has no life. Nothing. He lives in his mom's basement eating tootsie rolls and listening to old "WHAM" albums. I am willing to bet he has a HARDY BOYS book collection stashed away under his bed as well and watches re-runs of Gilligan's Island. P5"

    Wings like Gelech's potential

These are the type of players the wings should take a chance on, if it doesn't work out no real loss. Read From Red Wings Central: The Detroit Red Wings see a little bit of Anaheim Ducks forward Travis Moen in recently-signed right-winger Randall Gelech. The 23-year-old Gelech inked a two-year contract with the Red Wings in mid-July after the Phoenix Coyotes opted not to re-sign him. The Red Wings like his potential and want to keep developing him, and will likely assign him to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. “You’re hoping Gelech, down the road, maybe becomes a Travis Moen,†Red Wings assistant general manager Jim Nill said. “He played against Moen in junior and he was just as good of a player. You’re just hoping. He’s still a young kid.†Moen, 25, had 21 points in 82 games with the Ducks last season and added 12 points in 21 playoff games en route to Stanley Cup. Gelech recorded 17 goals and 17 assists for 34 points in 79 games last season with the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage. The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder has the attributes of a good NHL fourth-liner. “We like his size, he plays hard on the boards, he chases the puck well and he has pretty good hands for a big guy,†Nill said. “In this game, we’re forced to rush a lot of kids and we’re just hoping we find one of them who slips through the cracks, much like Dan Cleary did.†In other news:  Goaltender Logan Koopmans has re-signed with the Red Wings, inking a one-year contract. The 23-year-old has averaged just over 20 starts per season over the past three years because of various injuries, and was even contemplating retirement at one point. The Red Wings now have five goaltenders under contract. “He had tough luck with injuries and we just said, ‘You know what? Let's give him a chance, one more time,’†Nill said.  Defenseman Derek Meech has to clear waivers if the Red Wings decide to assign him to the AHL out of training camp. Fellow blueliner Kyle Quincey is exempt for another year. Both are fighting for the same job.  The Red Wings are bringing free-agent goaltender Pier-Olivier Pelletier to training camp in August and September to see what he can do, and might offer him a contract if he shows enough potential. Pelletier already participated in the team’s summer strength-and-conditioning camp in Detroit in early July and showed well. “We’ll just bring him to camp and see what happens  it’s all in how he plays,†Nill said. “We’re opening the door for him. Does he grab it? We’ll find out. We brought him to prospect camp and he outperformed three other goalies, so he’s the one who got the chance to come to our main camp.† Nill was impressed with a number of players at the team’s summer strength-and-conditioning camp at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Notably, Darren Helm, Justin Abdelkader and Jakub Kindl showed up having made impressive physical gains from previous years. “They’ve been there for a few years now and it’s paying off,†Nill said. “They were miles ahead of everybody else.†Nill listed defensemen Bryan Rufenach and Brendan Smith and left-winger Joakim Andersson as those who impressed him on the ice at the camp. Rufenach was at the top of the list. “He’s got very good hockey sense and vision and he’s real smart with the puck,†Nill said. “He’s going to school for four years and you’re hoping you’ll end up with another Dan Boyle down the road.†Nill said Andersson showed at camp that a little more lower-body strength will help him erase concerns about his skating. Nill added that the camp was an “eye-opener†for Swedes Johan Ryno, Mattias Ritola and Dick Axelsson. He said Ryno was in “good shape,†Ritola in “great shape†and Axelsson “needs to work†on his strength and conditioning.  Russian forward Igor Grigorenko missed the summer camp because of visa issues but will likely arrive in Detroit in mid-August. “His agent wants him to come over and get him adapted,†Nill said. “Our (players) usually get here around the third week of August and get together to do their own skating, so he’ll be meeting up with those guys then.† Nill had this to say about free agency. “We’re kind of sitting on the sidelines,†he said. “If somebody's name comes up that we like at the right price, we'd look at it, but if we have to start today with what we have, we'll start with we have.†The future is looking good

FBI Investigates NBA Ref. Tim Donaghy

some more intersting tidbits of the dirty ref and the Raptors. Apparently two games involving Tim Donaghy refeering the raptors are raising questionmarks, both dating to 2007. 1 a regular season game vs the sixers, and one is game 6 vs the nets, "For example, the 76ers were favored to beat the Raptors by one point at home on Jan. 15, 2007, but heavy betting on Toronto resulted in the closing line favoring the Raptors by 1. Toronto won in a blowout, 104-86, and 21 fouls were called on each team." "Another anomaly: In Game 6 of the 2007 first-round series between the Nets and Raptors, the line opened at 3 points favoring the Nets at home and closed at 5. That result would've been under scrutiny, but only by any fixers who might've been involved. The Nets failed to cover in a 98-97 series-clinching victory and had only a slight free-throw advantage (29-25). "If [Donaghy] was involved there, he's in trouble," the Nevada source said. "And not with the NBA." and i guess he's also getting death threats from the mob: From the New York Post: Three Manatee County Sheriff's squad cars screeched up to the Bradenton, Fla., home of terrified former NBA official Tim Donaghy to investigate menacing telephone calls against him. "They think he will be killed if he goes to prison, or even if he doesn't, just because he's probably talking, cooperating, and that's ratting on the mob," the pal said. "I don't think [the Mafia] would take that very well. The disgraced ref is said to be set to spill all - threatening to bring down anyone and everyone with him, sources said. He'll be naming names of other refs, coaches, players and game "validators," who sit unobtrusively in the stands to review calls on the court, the source said. "[Relatives] are very concerned for his safety," the friend added. "I think they knew something serious was going on, but not like this, not this big, whole life-or-death issue with the Mafia. I mean, it's the Gambinos." Several friends in Cape May, N.J., where his parents summer, said Donaghy's co-workers grew suspicious of his behavior about three years ago, when he would offer to trade free tickets to certain games with some refs in exchange for others - and then suddenly renege. this guy is in a ton of trouble

    Lidstrom's Future

I'm pretty sure Lids is going to retire from the NHL after this contract. I think he will go back to Sweden and play there for a couple years till the Olympics then after that officially retire from hockey.

FBI Investigates NBA Ref. Tim Donaghy

yeah im pissed, I am a Raptors fan and one game we played the Hawks and there was a "scoreboard malfunction" and they didn't count 2 pts the Raps got and the Hawks won the game by like a point or 2. Oh yeah and guess who the ref was HMMMMM.............

    Why no Enforcer in Motown?

    Sharks sign Norton

I dunno I don't care if he won or not, the fact that I got to see a fight was a bonus. For the first 5 games I looked forward to the nightly Norton bout lol
  23. redwingfan19

    Why no Enforcer in Motown?

ok then a guy who doesn't have to clear waivers then, someone we could send up and down like bootland except they can fight
  24. redwingfan19

    Why no Enforcer in Motown?

We need a legit tough guy with a 2 way contract we can call up when we play cheap shot artist teams such as the duxs and the flames. Thats about the only way we would need a fighter.

    Which Detroit Team Matters Most?

I don't care about who the most important team is, the Wings will always be MY #1 team so thats all that matters.
