Let the countdown begin!!!!
-
I think at this point Sammy is the one who is going to sit. But I could be wrong, maybe Huds but I think his play of late has earned him the right to be dressed everynight.
-
The only way we get A shot at him is if we pull some ridiculos trade with a crappy team, sending a big name for thier first rounder, which will never happen...
-
I am intrested to wonder of the line combo's that will be put in place. Cleary might even be back too. Lang was completeley invisible last night, he took a real bad penalty too
-
Berts Ice time will be limited, but boy oh boy is it going to be great to see him in the lineup. Imagine him and homer in front of the net on a powerplay.. thats got to be down right scary for goalies lol
-
can't remeber the last time I saw the Wings set the tone physically. Keep it up boys, maybe Bert coming back has something to do with it? They seem to be playing with an edge tonight
-
they should make an original 6 division, screw all those other lame teams.
-
There is no way Maltby is going to be scratched, he is valuable to this team. He get under peoples skin, draws penaltys, blocks shots, expert penalty killer and scores some big goals in the playoffs. It's going to be either hudler or sammy.
-
It's going to be either sammy or hudler. IMO Filppula has earned the right to be in the lineup, he is the most well rounded. Hudler is making a real strong case for himself right now and if this second line keeps this kind of chemistry up it would be foolish to take them apart. SO as of how I see it right now when everyone is healthy, looks like sammy will be the odd man looking in. If Hudler keeps hot he could score 20 goals this season, he's really steped up with the increased ice time.
-
I have no idea to the history behind it, but if anyone knows some input would be appreciated. Nashville fans are the most non class fans i've ever seen, no wonder people have all these stereotypes.

NHL NUMBERS here is a great link for all your FA need's as well as the Cap situation for the teams going into next year and beyond they are brothers right? if they are they show no similarities whatsoever
-
what do you guys think of Brad Stuart? Puck moving defenceman who is good in his own end, also has a bit of a mean streak too. Could proboaly be had for maybe Markov type money, 2.5 to 3. Would be an exellent replacement for Schnider IMO.
-
That pretty much applies to everywhere, Even in Canada we have toothless hicks who live in trailers.
-
Brad Stuart- WOuld be a good replacement for Schnider. Derek Boogard- we all know what he would be for. Chris Drury, could replace Lang. Gomez, Ryan Smyth, Jason Blake, Scott Hannan, Ritis Ivannas. All in all some of these guys would be good pick ups, a dman, a forward and an enforcer would be ideal for the Wings going forward into next year.

heh, since i am still living in the stone age and don't have an HD TV, i'll take the Detroit feed in standard Hey! That is a great idea, I live about 2hrs up the 401 from Detroit and get all the Wings games on the radio, If I get the Nashville feed I may just have to try that out Thanks for the tip

Whats with all this Kronner bashing? This guy has a ton of upside. Yes he does give the puck away but thats becuase he tries to be too fancy and goes up the middle. Keep it simple Kronner, get the puck along the boards. WHy does Babcock allow him to go up the middle? One of the first things you learn in hockey is to never go up the middle, your always taught to get the puck out along the boards. The only time you go up the middle is if your out of your zone or the other team is nowhere to be seen in your end, such as a line change. If Kronner uses the boards more I think he will cut his turnovers in half and then some.

I am so pumped for this series, should be a rough game tonight, real playoff type atmosphere. Hopefully Booter squares off with someone tonight. Also im crossing my fingers that I don't get the Nashville feed on my CI, those announcers get under my skin...
-
I personally do not want Schnider back, he is too old and slow. I would rather see Kindl take that spot. I also think the Wings should bring in a tough stay at home Defensman, the Thrashers got a couple guys by the name of Garnett Exelby and Andy Sutton, 2 big strong guys who would defenitly make our defense very rugged and tough to play against. To get one of these guys would be great.
-
I see the only way the Av's get in is if Calgary, and Minny fall completely flat on thier faces. The Av's basically have to win the rest of there games if they want to get in. It will be weird not to see them in the playoffs, it's going to take a miricle.

Wow alot of great stories about meeting Former/Current Wings players. The only Wings I've met is Dino, Brad Marsh, and Shanny and that was at a London Knights Alumni Game. Some NHL players I have met though, include: Doug Gilmour, met him twice actually, a real nice guy felt really comfortable around him. I meet Joe and Scott Thorton when they came to my public school, both are from London and there cousins went to my school so they took out time to come to our school and have a meet and great with all the kids. Steve Ruchin, also from London, came to my work looking for a car, during the lockout year lol real good guy. , Mac T, Basil Mcrae, Jeff Hackett, live down the road from a friend very funny guy but was very nice to talk too. LOL pretty much the only NHL players I've met are either from London or have played for the Knights. It will always be a Dream to meet Stevie, sounds like an exellent guy.

I played goalie in road hockey. But on the Ice I play left wing as a PF. Always wondered how I'd fare between the pipes on the Ice though... considering I played on some awful teams.
-
Going to have to say Getting swept by NJ, and the Av's is the worst for me.
-
scored 2 goal last night against my hometown Knights!

There Has to be a fine line though, not "well you got away with tackleing that guy so next time your shadow goes near anyone I better call a penalty" That is one thing that defenitley needs to be addressed immediatley. The reason Gretzky didn't have 6'4 defenceman draped over his back is becuase there were guys that would have their sticks draped around the guys neck if they touched him. I don't recall other players getting that treatment, and for the record there was some vicious stickwork back then. ANd im actually not that lucky if you consider the exchange rate, gas and the fact I don't even have a car to go anywhere, It drives me crazy to be stuck in this dead end town. Lets just agree to disagree.

Like it used to be 20 years ago? I don't think the refs were the most important people on the ice back then. I also don't think they called penalties for a guy finger touching the other players jersey. Also you never saw Gretzky getting pounded like Crosby does, you were actually allowed to protect your star players back then. Also I played hockey for 17 years so im pretty sure i've seen it. ANd as I am a Red Wings fan in ontario I have to drive 2hrs and pay double to see them play I don't exactly call that being catered to. I don't want any trouble here, this is from my prespective. I was wrong for sterotyping other fanbases. I guess Im just jealeous that fans that never really liked or watched hockey before got a team in there backyard and can go to games anytime they want, exc.
