basically franzen's contract COULD be horrible in a couple years and people on here will be calling for kenny's head. kenny talks about making trades to improve the defense so maybe trade franzen for a d man and get out of his contract. kinda like what philly just did.

its not even about the cap space. my point is that franzens contract COULD be really bad in a year or two if he continues to be injured. with so many team trying to get to the cap floor this could be the perfect time to trade him. im looking more into the future than I am in the now. the return would have to be an nhl ready prospect that can jump into the fold immediately.

what are the chances holland unloads franzens contract to a team trying to get to the cap floor? i like the mule, but he is seeming to become very injury prone and streaky. that contract could be an absolute albatross in a couple years. everyone talks about trading huds and flip but what about mule?

Kenny went soft in this draft but i like this nedomlel kid, pretty much the defensive version of callahan but he is a monster at 6-4. hopefully he can round out the rest of his game and progress the way callahan has. going to be following this kid closely I like the jurco and tvrdon could be another pulkinen.

i would give the 54th pick if it meant getting wiz for sure. all the guys the wings draft will be 4-5 years away if they even make the nhl. wiz helps us now.. there will be plenty more drafts for th wings where they will hit a home run, they still even could in this draft. -

smart move by the habs. they know wiz is sought after and they know they will not be resigning him. might as well try to get "something" for him. asking price is a second, doesn't mean habs will get that. -
do not want rocco grimaldi at all!!!! anyone see his interview on tsn? they were talking about how he is all religious and rocco said something about guys on the team who do things that are "wrong" the quickly corrected himself by saying guys who do things he "doesn't agree with" in regards to drinking alcohol and such.... sounds like he would be a cancer in the locker room.

kenny wanted biggs but as soon as burke traded for that pick kenny knew he was taking him. then kenny got on the phone immediately and traded the pick away for the two 2nd rounders. thats my theory anyways.

Smith would slot right in Kindl's spot. I fully expect Smith to beat out Kindl (if he is still here) for the final spot in camp. I think Flip, Kindl + could fetch Burns if he really is available.

Wouldn't be surprised if Flip is dealt but Kenny doesn't have the stones to pull it off. If Burke can get Liles for a 2nd, any combination of Flip, Hudler, Kindl and a pick could land the Wings a legit D man.

Him and Eaves are very similar players to me and I think we could have Eaves for a lot cheaper. I would definitely be happy with Talbot for around 2M. He is skilled enough that if there was and injury he could jump right in and play top 6. Plus like I said earlier that guy comes up huge in the playoffs where it really counts.
