+1 Totally forgot about McCormick, he is definitely on my radar, plus he is from my hometown which makes it even better. Hudler I could give or take, he could be gone or stay, makes no difference to me other than I would prefer to see him moved. Wiz AND Montador could be a stretch, who knows what Kenny will do, but I think Wiz is very likely. McCormick is realistic too, but I could see Holland deciding to stick with Miller over a scrappy 4th liner...

Never thought about Montador, he isn't any worse than salei or ericsson plus he plays with an edge, blocks a TON of shots and can PK. He also can put up 20-25pts and is a right handed shot which should make some people happy. Montador, Wizneiwski and one S. Thorton or konopka and maybe a project like wolski or zherdev, hudler traded would make my offseason. FapFapFapFapFapFapFapFap

Sign this guy up Kenny The Wiz is EXACTLY what this team needs on the back end. Wiz>>>>>every other FA D man http://www.kuklaskorner.com/index.php/tmr/comments/red_wings_mid-day_news_maclean_joins_sens_on_the_organizational_meetings_an/ And for s***s and giggles LOLZ Ericsson isn't even worth 1.5M hope he gets an offer he can't refuse from ANOTHER team..

    Mayfield at number 24

Don't forget about Lashoff, but your right. The Wings have nothing remotely close to a defensive D man besides Lashoff, actually, the Wings only have 3 D men in the system that even really have a shot to even be a factor in the NHL. Hope Kenny takes Mayfield if he is there when the Wings pick and he goes D heavy this draft.

    Mayfield at number 24

and with the wings going North American with their last 4 1st round picks (albeit one was a goalie) and the thin pool of defensive prospects, a guy like mayfield makes perfect sense with the pick. it has got to the point where they wings have so many offensive prospects that they have to trade them away because there is no room on the roster and guys are out of options. guaranteed one of emmerton and mursak will be gone by camp. simply no room, it's a pretty safe bet the wings go with a D-man with the first pick. kenny knows he can try to hit homeruns with the jarnkroks, almqvists, pulkinens in the latter rounds.

    Mayfield at number 24

see my post in the draft thread, this guy would be the perfect complement to smith 3-4 years down the road. wings have enough high end offensive talent in they system. i believe he is also a right handed shot. totally on board with this!

    Wings - Flyers Trade Partners?

Absolutely false. I will take Chelis word over yours. Doesn't sound like a guy who wont be in the NHL 2 years from now and is weak defensively to me.

    Wings - Flyers Trade Partners?

what about meszaros? he would be great in a wings uniform

Dude, didn't you know????? Some on here will have you believe the Wings are one of the grittiest teams in the league because they got a few guys who dig for loose pucks in the corners!!!!!!! If thats not grit I don't know what is

I don't care if it's a Brad Norton type, I want to see players held accountable when our guys get run.

Discarded peanut shells under the seats at the Joe have more value than Jonathan Ericsson.

Smith to be on Wings next season?

Chelios on Smith: Starting to sound more and more like Smith is going to have every chance to make this team out of camp. The PK part surprised me. I admit, the only time I watch Griffins games is when they play the Marlies because it is on Leafs TV, but is his defense better than he is given credit for? http://www.foxsportsdetroit.com/05/26/11/Smith-may-be-next-ex-Badger-to-contribut/landing_redwings.html?blockID=528880&feedID=3701

Adam Almqvist signed to 3 yr deal

I could see Almqvist potentially being a Tobias Enstrom type. Very excited about this kid.

    Draft Talk

I hope Kenny goes the route of a stay at home d man with the first pick. There should be some good ones available when the Wings pick. The only 2 prospects the Wings really have with a future on D IMO, is Smith and Lashoff. From the last time the Wings drafted a D man in the first round, I'd have to say it's looking pretty damn good right now. The Wings have not had a defensive prospect like this since Kronwall. Smith is an offensive guy, the perfect complement to him down the road would be a legit shut down guy. Don't really see Lashoff as more than a 5th or 6th guy, while I consider Smith a top pairing D man.

    Question about Carcillo

he is only 26, far from being anywhere near his prime. he could probably play some decent hockey if he stayed focused. personally, i wouldn't want him though..

    Draft Talk

Hoping Scott Mayfield will still be on the board when the Wings pick. Big shutdown guy who can play in all situations, he is also a right handed shot. The Wings lack defensive depth and the closest thing we have to a defensive D man is Brian Lashoff. I'd like to see Holland take a defensive D man with the first pick, it would be a safe pick and fill an area of need. Then he can try to hit home runs in the later rounds, IE Jarnkrok, Pulkinen. But knowing Holland he will draft Rocco Grimaldi. On a serious note, for anyone interested, here is The Scouting Reports top 60: http://www.thescoutingreport.org/tsrs-2011-midterm-top-60-skaters-130/

Ken Holland: Open to trade to replace Rafalski

Who is Holland going to trade then? Doubt he trades away all our prospects. Filpulla and Hudler are the only 2 guys who don't have NTC or long bloated contracts. Pretty sure Helm is untouchable, not sure on Abby although I hope he doesn't get traded. Franzen I could see but teams may shy away due to his recent injuries.

Ken Holland: Open to trade to replace Rafalski

Substitute Filpulla for Hudler then, makes no difference to me. Both Filpulla and Hudler are spare cogs and make terrific trade bait. If Kenny is really open to trades, then these 2 make the most sense.

Ken Holland: Open to trade to replace Rafalski

To LAK: Hudler, Cory Emmerton, Travis Erdhardt To DET: Matt Greene, Kyle Clifford Really like LA as a trading partner, wonder if kenny does...
