Brian Rafalski announces retirement after 11 NHL seasons
redwingfan19 replied to MacK_Attack's topic in General
matt greene would be nice, could take over stuarts role once his contract is up. I wouldn't want Mike Green either when you have a Mike Green Lite in Brendan Smith who will be dirt cheap for a few years. -

matt greene -
yes!!! I am from London and will definitely be there. never seen the wings in my hometown before which will be cool. not a bad seat in the JLC so the 65$ ticket will be fine with me. to the OP. Friday night lights is good but the owner is a scumbag, scots corner which is an scottish/english pub is a cool place, fitzrays is good and right across the street. If your looking for something a bit more upscale robinson hall is also across the street. For food just go to the covent garden market which is, you guessed it, right across the street.

I think Bieksa and Wiz are realistic possibilities but your right about the others. -

Agreed, plenty of teams would take Hudler. It all comes down to if Kenny has the stones to trade him or not. -
Your 2011-2012 Detroit Red Wings Ladies and Gentlemen, I took potential raises for the UFA's that could be signed into account and I believe Lids will come back at around 6M. But this is my pipe dream of a team: CAPGEEK.COM CAP CALCULATOR FORWARDS Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Tomas Holmstrom ($1.875m) Todd Bertuzzi ($1.937m) / Valtteri Filppula ($3.000m) / Johan Franzen ($3.954m) Jiri Hudler ($2.875m) / Darren Helm ($0.912m) / Daniel Cleary ($2.800m) Justin Abdelkader ($0.787m) / Zenon Konopka ($0.725m) / Patrick Eaves ($0.950m) Jan Mursak ($0.550m) DEFENSEMEN Nicklas Lidstrom ($6.000m) / James Wisniewski ($4.250m) Niklas Kronwall ($3.000m) / Brad Stuart ($3.750m) Brendan Smith ($0.875m) / Shane O'Brien ($2.000m) Jakub Kindl ($0.883m) GOALTENDERS Jimmy Howard ($2.250m) / Mathieu Garon ($1.000m) CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $59,400,000; CAP PAYROLL: $57,158,711; BONUSES: $0 CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $2,241,289 Still plenty of cap leftover to bring in a depth Dman/Forward at the deadline.

If Lidstrom retires I would like to see the Wings sign one of Wiz or Bieksa and Markov. If Lids stays then one of Wiz or Bieksa is a real possibility. I'd still let Ericsson and Salei walk as Kindl and Smith are both better than those 2 at this point. Sign Shane O'Brien as the 5th d man and D is looking amazing especially if Lidstrom stays. With Lidstrom: Lidstrom/Wiz or Bieksa Kronwall/Stuart O'Brien/Smith Kindl Without Lidstrom: Markov/Stuart Kronwall/Wiz or Bieksa O'Brien/Smith Kindl I think I would actually prefer Wiz over Bieksa but thats just me, also I think Wiz would love the chance to play for the Wings since he is a Michigan native. -
I'd like to see the Wings sign O'Brien, but i'd like to see the guy in my avatar in the lineup. Smith is ready folks, he is already miles ahead of Kindl in my book and deserves a shot at cracking the club. O'Brien and Smith would be a sick 3rd pairing.

either detroit or columbus will move to the east, hopefully it will be the wings, would love to see them play toronto a bunch of times a year.

used to have faith with ericsson but now he's just another aki berg.
-
probably has to go to the quiet room
-
if they want to pull that crap in their own barn fine, but if they ever come to the joe and try to pull that stunt and i'm there they better be ready for a beer shower and a knuckle sandwich. I think it would be disrespectful to do that in another teams rink, plus I think they are kind of lame.. just go to the game, have fun and cheer your team. no need to act like goofs and be attention whores.

can you say concussion? kronwalled -
didn't we have a similar thread last year?

if a cup cost 5 years and 30 million I will take it any day of the week
-
Absolutely not. I would like to see some of the smaller, soft skill guys, IE Hudler, Filpulla, and maybe some prospects traded for a legit power forward or a tough shut down d man. I have given up on ericsson and would like to see him replaced with a guy like brookbank for the 6th d man. That team that won the cup in 08 was a very well balanced team and it played tough against opponents and had heart. Have not seen that the last 2 years, the wings were way to casual against SJ and didn't play with any heart or grit. They have been outworked in the corners badly and have been puck watchers. Lets not forget that cup was 3 years ago and are star players were peaking, now they are on the decline, on the wrong side of 30 and injury prone. Those zeterberg and franzen contracts are going to look horrible in a couple years. This thing isn't working anymore and needs to change.
