I hope these guys get contracts, archibald would be eligible to play in GR this year.

mitchell has the same problem as lilja had. Would he still be effective? If he could still bring that nastiness he had before the concussion I'd be all for it.

oh ozzie.. going to be sad to see him go but he had a great career. I could still see the wings offering him a contact to be the back up if he chooses not to retire. Mccollum on the other hand is still going to be a stud and If he puts it together he could be great. I don't think it would be a bad thing to have a montreal thing going on in a year or 2 with jimmy and thomas. I think thomas has a much higher ceiling than jimmy but he is going to have to prove himself this year to make me believe that.

Hunter made him change his game to a more defensive one and he has stuck with it so far in the NHL. They will need him to step up with offense huge next year, which he is capable of. The guy was a monster for the knights.

This is probably why he hasn't and won't sign with the wings.

yeah I just posted this in the prospects camp thread and I would be shocked if hnidy or mckke were still around by then. It's looking like one of the kids will get the 6/7 spot or janik.

smith says he wants to make the team out of camp hollands response: "I want to see where he's at," Holland said of Smith. "Do we go with kids or do we sign a veteran? If the right free agent comes along at the right price, well sign him. If not, I am comfortable going to training camp and letting these guys sort it out. If they aren't up to the challenge, we can always look to add a veteran in October or November But I am OK letting this play itself out over the summer and then again in October." sounds like it could be possible if he has a strong camp and wow's the kenny and co. Also mentioned abby will take modoano's role if he doesn't sign.

I think next year when lidstrom and drapers/others contacts are off the books we will se multi year deals for these guys if they are still around by then
