I wouldn't mind seeing maltby on a 2 way to go down to GR and teach some of the young guys and fill in if there is injuries, but I do not want him back to take a roster spot at the expense of a young guy like ritola or eaves.

abdelkader will be the third line center and he will play with cleary and one of bertuzzi or hudler i'd imagine. I think thats a really good third line and abby has underrated offense, he played with may and maltby last year. Everyone on that line could score 15 goals and that be great out of a third line. Hudler will score more if he can stay out of babcocks doghouse and plays top 6 most of the time. Not worried about the third line scoring at all. I just hope the big guns stay healthy and get back to form next season.

I was thinking this too, but if abby is going to fight as much as he did when he went down to the AHL then he should just loose the shield completely.

i think as ericsson gets in more fights he will become more and more comfortable doing it, then with his size he could reach heavy weight status

I actually think ericsson can handle himself quite fine

exelby is a guy I've wanted on the wings for a while ever since he laid out sundin. I think he would be the perfect 6th defenseman for this team. I also think he would come at a very reasonable price 1M-1.2M range.

i think wings will only be able to keep one of miller and eaves, but I guess they could keep both if bert doesn't come back

abby will be a 20 goal scorer in this league. He has a good shot, decent hands, and strong on the puck. If he ever develops a net presence along the lines of franzen or bertuzzi he could achieve this.

I may be one of the few who is glad he is gone. I like the guy and wish him well, but I will not miss his floating, getting knocked off the puck and sulking when he is not in the lineup. With huds coming back I think we can all agree we would much rather have him than leino.

yeah its really tough to fit him in there, but this is not a bad thing. It just means that this team is still really deep. everyone complains about not having a scoring third line, well how about bert(if he comes back)/abby/cleary third line? abby's offense is underrated on this board, he played with may and maltby for most of the year. I think a cleary/bert/abby line would be an excellent third line that can do some scoring.

if i had to choose I would take eaves. He's just a better player and could be had for relatively cheap again. Miller is redundant on this team unfortunately but I like what he did for this team and he played his heart out. All in all though I think I'd rather have a asham type of guy to take millers spot.

this is the news I have finally been waiting to hear. Really hope bert comes back and kenny signs that gritty 4th liner and a physical stay at home D man. Now all this tanguay and lombardi coming to the wings nonsense can be put to rest.
