That's debatable. I completely agree with the logic of that move, but it will never happen with the current team. Right now Cheli is the players' peer - going from peer to coach doesn't work ( ie Dave Lewis) Edit: Dave Lewis example isn't the best, but you guys know what I mean. -
I can't find video, (maybe someone reading this can help) but who remembers when during game 7 vs the Avs in 02, when the game was clearly out of reach, the Joe started playing neil diamond's "sweet caroline"? Carolina had already clinched a their spot in the SCF.....goosebumps.

Excellent news. I was hoping Babs would give him another start, especially after his strong showing against Philly. Despite my screen name, I've been a Conklin fan this season. Osgood seems to have really turned his game around recently, ditto to the Wings defense.

Last season when the Wings called him up, my biggest compliment was that I didn't notice him out there at all...pretty much meaning that he was average and wasn't f'ing anything up enough to get noticed. Last night, however, I noticed him often. He was very physical behind our net (something the normal roster lacks), made some nice outlet passes, and played very well on the PP or PK, can't remember which he played.

Absolutely not. Props to the grind line for the work they've done. They have their rings and I think that's reward enough. Nick is the only absolute out there for that honor. A case could be made for Fedorov and Shanahan, and Zetterberg and Datsyuk need to put in more time before they're even considered.

That convinces me that Hossa will definately be re-signed. I just hope that if the Wings do get Hossa and Mule back that Kenny has a plan to follow when the cap moves down in a couple years.

You could potentially sign franzen and hossa if they take similar deals to z's. Say hossa 8 years at 39.5mil, final 3 at 1mil (easy to buy out) and mule at 8 years 25.5, last 3 1mil. Trim some fat, ie sammy, malts and drapes, to squeeze in huds, bring up a combination of helm, leino, and abby and we're good to go.
