According to nhlnumbers.com, the ducks are sitting at around 45mil once matty and giggys salaries are included. That leaves them around 5 mil to sign 3 forwards (including selanne) and two defensemen. If Niedemayer is done, they have nearly 12. That tells me that Niedemayer is calling it a career.

The offensive chemistry is still there and will be strengthened as young players have another year under their belts. The key to this offseason is the blue line. If Kenny can steal a star like smyth, gomez, drury, or briere, I say go for it, but not at the expense of our defense corps. EDIT: spelling/grammar

The search is already over. Who'd they pick? You guessed it: FRANK STALLONE Seriously though, Chelios is going to do something big with this league when he finally retires from the ice.
-
Despite what most of you might think, Jason Allison would not be wasted cap space..... He would delay the development of a young player who still has a chance at a career on the ice.

your employees know to avoid you after a Wings loss

Absolutely true. Thank god for Hasek or this series could be embarassing.
-
Anyone catch Bab's press conference after the game? He said the one thing he heard from all his players was "no legs tonight". It was apparent. Thank GOD Hasek came to win, because the rest of the team didn't have it. I hope the Ducks make their adjustments based soley on last nights game cause all us fans know that was not the Wings we've known this postseason. I must say it was a breath of fresh air to see all the Wings dropping to block Pronger's shot. The Wings will only get better for game 2. Wings in 6

quick odds: Tigers have a 1 in 30 chance Wings have a 1 in 4 chance Pistons have a 1 in 8 chance approximately 0.103% chance all three will win.
-
TSN That's only one instance of the mistake. Two people must have written this article because its spelled both ways. EDIT: Spelling, haha

Exactly. I can't find any aticles from beween game 5 and game 6 of that series, but I do remember the media counting the WIngs out. I have faith that WIngs will win this series, but I don't think they're gonna breeze through the Sharks in game 6. Wings in 6, terrific, but I don't want to see anyone jump off the bandwagon if this thing goes to game 7.

Outside of the downtown area, where's there a great place to watch the games?

I agree with whoever said we played nearly the entire game without Schneider. Lest we forget, we have 3 of the TOP defensive forwards in the game in Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Draper, not to mention an often over-looked d-man by the name of Lidstrom. The two rookies will NEVER be on the ice at the same time while the other four will log 24-30 minutes each. The forwards will just have to make sure they're doing their part defensively.

its been too long, i'm going through red wings withdrawl

How about 1997 wings vs 1997 avs?
-
Yes Linky Linky
-
Yes, calgary fans throw alberta beef on the ice.
-
Not being a homer here, but I find it very surprising that datsyuk and/or zetterberg were not nominated for selke.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZUMs4phrvo tell me this doesn't remind you of our team this season?

Because there are other factors to consider aside from incidental contact with the eye, the example I was read was the amout of pressure in the eye increases when you're active. Too much pressure could cause him to bleed out.
