You have to remember though, hockey on NBC and in general is struggling for more viewers, thats why I think they are riding Sid and Ovechkin so hard and people love drama and controversy...So do u think they are just trying to make things more "user friendly" maybe? I cant imagine that non hockey fans even watch the intermission reports anyways so who knows...

my friends mom works at a salon and she cut Gordie Howe's hair one time, she didnt know who he was haha she came home and asked my buddy "do u know a hockey player named howe?" the silence was deafening.

Honestly i think dallas would be a good first round test...i DO NOT want to play vancouver, the thought of not being able to score on a hot goalie again is almost disheartening...almost. -

Thats kinda what i was thinkin...we have consistantly started out on the top of the standings, sometimes winning the cursed presidents trophy and playin a "weaker" team that comes back to bite us in the ass... the "weaker" team that we were supposed to steamroll ends up knocking us out and goin to the cup finals lol. Maybe we would be better served to play a stronger team out of the gate to get our playoff blood flowing or something? -
And the fact that NBC(and most major broadcasting companies for that matter) is on Crosby and Ovechkin's nuts might play a small factor as well...

The point is we potentially have an incredible goalie in our system. I'm not saying bring him up because I think hasek failed us...And I do believe we have other more important issues to solve... I'm just saying that sooner or later we will have to give him a shot, wether he works out or not, If he's eaten alive then the scouts were wrong, we move on and try with someone else. Because eventually it will be broke then what?

I believe there is only one way to get experiance... and like ttbrunke said he will probably only face 20-25 shots a game... I say let him split time with ozzie this year, play half the games or so and see how it works out...plus if he hasnt improved much and we dont have much faith in ozzie come the deadline, try and get a better goaltender. But I think we should give him a try, if nothing else just to finally prove if he will work out or not.
