Agreed x2. I was just thinking this morning as I was listening to the radio pump up the city with Stanley Cup talk. A caller called in and stated that no matter what he does not think Oz is Hall of Fame level. I was angry, very angry. I begin to think what selfish, spoiled fans we have here in Detroit to talk about such things like this on the morning of a possible Stanley Cup Champion Victory. I am extremely grateful for the fact that I fell in love with this team and this sport above all else. Not one or two world class players but 5 or six. Or more. 11 cups in team history and 4 in the past 11 years with a possible 12th and 5th in the making. What a world we live in that some dueche bag has the audicity of copmplaining about the possibilty of the future of our goalie. I am thankful that so many TRUE fans, LOVING fans, THANKFUL and APPRECIATIVE fans grace this site everyday. I have butterflies. I have goosebumps. I love the wings. Finish it!

I have to say thank you to all who went to the game last night. Unfortunatly I was watching in the living room, but I had to immediatly notice the crowd. All I heard after GM 4 that the Igloo was the loudest Arena in a long time. True they were loud, but you that attended last night can hold thier heads high. The traditional "lets go Red Wings" chant roared, then it non traditional chants the Boomed. Chanting Fluery, Chanting Crosby (My favorite), and singing with the songs. It was just an incredible atmosphere and you did all of Hockeytown proud!

I agree, fatigue is our biggest enemy. Also the Pens are playing phenominal hockey right now. I think they are playing on the Wings level, but the Wings are not. I thought the same thing last night, boy they look tired. Z cannot maintain his efforts without help much longer. Ozzy played very well. I like your post because it brings out a real issue. I am so tired of hearing it is the Ref's fault, Malkin is cheap, Corsby is a diver, blah blah blah. The Pens are playing great hockey. The Wings absolutely can bet Pit but the have to somehow get rejuvinated and step it up.

First and foremost, no team is good enough all the time to deal with the inconsistency of the penalty calling. Second, I think the Pens have a great team. I don't believe that there is a conspiracy, just marketing. Malkin is a phenom and Crosby is one of the greats. I can't stand Crosby but I know a good player when I see one. At least I hope I do. I think the "D" is weaker then Detroits but who is not. If Fluery keeps playing like he has been it won't matter much. Third, "if" the Wings lose I will say what I think the reasons are regardless. I could care less if you make excuses for the Pens. What you think about Wings fans means very little to me, and I am sure that stands for every Wings fan. Third 1/2, I am expecting a historic series and can hardly handle the suspense! GO WINGS!!!

I really like the way this puts things in plan black and white for the haters. I am convinced that regardless of what Ozzy does and the numbers say, people will always doubt him and say he is s***. If a horrible season is finishing 3rd in the league as a team, I will take s***ty ozzy any day. I will always believe the folks that hate on ozzy and hasek and all the other goalies, I feel that they are generally fair weather and flakey fans.

If I was drunk I would just blame these post on blurry vision, there is no other explanation. What does Ozzy have to do to gain respect? Maybe he should play like Loungo, who has won ZERO Stanley Cups and by not winning has not "stole" any games for his team. Maybe he should be like Nabakov who is one of the biggest playoff choke artist in the game. Maybe he should be like Giggy who sat and watched the Playoff's this season. Maybe Hiller who seems to have played alot like Ellis last year... Let's at least give him 2 seasons before he is better then Oz. Maybe he should play like Brody, hmmm 1st round exit? Sure maybe Fluery or Ward are better.... Although Oz stood up to Fluery and won the cup last year and Ward who seems to be equally as penetrable. Maybe you take away his "game stealing" save against Wasniewski in Game 7 and we could very well have lost. Giving that game 7's are won 70% of the time to the first scoring team. Maybe you have been silly drunk since the playoff's began, but hell I have been too and I know how valuable Oz has been, how "consistent" he has been, how many HUGE saves he has made. The only people that rival Ozzy's importance is Franzen and Cleary. As far as consistency goes there is no such thing as a "consistent goalie", unless consistency is defined as playoff success, 3 Cups, 2 responsible for, and WCF berth 2 years in a row. edit: spelling and grammer

The way I look at it is, the day after the Hossa "No Goal" there was a press release from the NHL on behalf of the Ref's. Atleast trying to explain the shamble. Nothing about Cleary's today? Odd.

Without Oz making huge saves like the one against Wisnieski in the 1st of the 7th, we don't win the series. Ozzy for the semi's MVP. So far Mule for the overall MVP.

We are completely ridiculous to think that Helm is "dangerous", a completely notable role player, but not dangerous. I don't think 2 goals makes him dangerous. I love me some Helm but never at the expense of a Hossa.
