This news makes me want to buy a international satellite dish! Hasek isn't what he once was...but Hasek at 75% is still an NHL goalie IMO.

This thread was blown a little bit out I think. After reading the link it was just another media darling stunt. They blow it up and we eat it up. He came out for a couple minutes and stretched, mumbled, left. Torts said he did not even notice. Ovie needs to go deflate his head a little bit and concentrate on not getting shut out any longer. Losing both games at home makes it very difficult to win on the road. Silly Media Strikes Again!

I am not sure about the game selling out or not. What I am sure of is being in attendance at GM 1, Hockeytown has anything but lost it's buzz. We may not sell out but the arena was packed. Also I am not sure but doesn't the Joe pack in more fans than most Arena's? I know that I seen hardcore fan's painted up and waling around in tights. I seen hardcore fans in a nice wings Tee. All equally as loud. From the Mason chants, let's go wings, to Ozzy the arena was loud and on fire. Yes there were few Columbus fans there but don't give them to much credit, there was not a lot of them and the fans that came were rightfully booed and jeered at every turn. Not in a rude way just a competetive way. I guess I am just a little sick and tired of hearing this s***. Is this that same chick that said the Wings fans were s*** on a Pitt tv station?

They only have one funny one. Hey they are new comers. Espiacally since one fan said to be sure and pack the place on Saturday (referring to Columbus). Silly boy, 2-2-1. I knew they have never been to the playoffs, thats just funny.

The funniest thing is if/when a Jackets fan comes in here they will get all puffy. Ya know since they have never been in the playoff's and all thier fans are usually playing World of Warcraft by this time in the season. Level 120 elf... YES!!!

So it starts. Everything that we knew about this season is know over and starts the second season. The Real Season. This is the time the our Detroit Red Wings will come out and play thier hockey. Playoff Hockey.

Your exactly right. I think people need to get over ESPN making jokes and treating the NHL like crap, only reason being is ESPN network will improve the fan base of the NHL, no doubt. Instead they throw the NHL Network out there with some of the worst commentators. Think of it this way: Remember that ex-girlfriend that was really s***ty to you when you broke up? Also remember how great she was in bed? You take what is gonna benefit you the most. The ESPN will make the NHL better, period.

Here I thought the elections were done and yet a much more important vote comes to. Franzen is one of six goals being voted for. I love AO but lets knock him out of this one. Linky Vote for Franzen! I went back and watched them all again and yes Hagman has it. Wonderful goal! Then I voted again for Mule! I agree x2 about AO's goal. Great move, but just a good goal.

I have had a few really awesome encounters. The best was Gordie Howe. Last season I did the color gaurd for the National Anthem. It was Military appreciation night and they went all out for us. Before the start the bought us like 8 pizzza's for four of us! We got to ride the zamboni with Al, who is an incredibly nice guy and also a huge fan of the Military, for the pregame run. Then afterwards we thought we were just gonna go home and a guy came and said hey how would you like to go up to a suite? Hells yes! He added that there are other people in the suite he hoped we would not mind. Well we get up to the suite and who else but Gordie friggin Howe!!! Long story short he BS'd with us during intermission, told us stories of the old days and we told him stories of Iraq and basic and other various training. It was a chance of a lifetime. I have pictures but I was 35 lbs heavier and look it so I don;t have them up! HAHA Another time I met Datsyuk in Hockeytown Authentics he was hilarious and nice. Signed a jersey for me!

If I could choose a team of all of these I would choose Columbus. First appearance in the playoff's will make them nervous. Nashville makes me nervous only because with so many appearances they have to beat us eventually and this would be the year. Anahiem because of the travel I would like to avoid. I think we could beat them but it would wear us done for our next opponent which could likely be the Flames.

I like the idea of NHL on ESPN. I was really excited until I seen where the info came from. Eklund and his "sources"? Probably the guy that cleans toilets on the floor below the NHL. Eklund has to be the biggest fraud in the NHL.

Agreed x2!!! I don't get it. What is wrong with AO's goal celebration. A little personality in a dying sport, everyone is trying to regulate it. Avery has never done anything, ANYTHING that would be considered malicous. Maybe I am wrong but dancing in front of a goalie and tapping another on the head and making rude comments about a puck bunny does not seem that bad. Let's hope you don't get your way.
