Yes I do agree, the intensity may be differant. That is where someone has to pump them up. Maybe they wanted the blues to win so they are less likely to travel west for the first round.

I think when your so close. One game is all you get. Look at it this way if Ozzy is not pulling it off he will get pulled. If you don't start with the Playoff tough goaltender and the known #1 and Conks stinks it up you have already destroyed Ozzies confidence. Conks did not expect to get the start so if they have to put him in then he will still have some confidence. In our current situation this is the right decision. It is not just the goalies fault though, the "D" has been rough.

Seriously, do you really believe that professional athletes that get paid $100,000's to millions get bored of the regular season. If they do then they deserve to slapped. The switch to turn on the ability to win broke, matter of fact I am pretty sure it never worked. SO if this is thier logic, we lost. Probably a first round exit. Not to mention that our likely opponents will be the Ducks. Travel, travel, travel. Not the best recipe for a team that is "bored".

I would be happy if Datsyuk just got the recognition with more then Detroit fans, coaches, players and media. So yes I would be satisfied with the LBP. Better then the Bing...

Here is my thing... There are two types of players (well a lot more but for my arguement only 2), Players that need a cast to be better. Players that make thier cast better. A.O. - Makes everyone around him better. Datsyuk- Probably the best at making everyone aroud him better. Crosby- Needs good players. Malkin- Makes everyone better. Datsyuk is the best hockey player in the world.

Ageed. The word coasted is being used out of context. I don't think the wings played good hockey last Feb but I don't think they are coasting now. The just are not playing well. I don't think Professional level teams "coast".

Some of the most ridiculous things I have read in a while is why Datsyuk should not be Captain. His bad english? His bad english is heard and understood when speaking to teammates, coaches and refs. Not to mention probably the best interviews on the team. He's a quiet leader? As opposed to Lidstrom and Zetterburg screaming and shouting all the time. It may distract from his play? WTF?!?! If the "C" is a distraction, I don't even know what to say. I think either way you go Datsyuk or Zetterburg the right decision will be made. I can't actually think of a Russian Captian. Maybe someone can help me. I just think some of your guys reasons are ridiculous. The "C" should be about leadership, not skill. That being said Cheli and Draper could make a good captian. Right?

The bad thing is that Parise or Dats won't get the recognition they deserve. The league is so Crosby and AO oriented thats all they can think about. Do they deserve it? I think so, but other players do to. The thing about MVP is it should be about who is the best player in the league. Not the best name. So my guess is it will go to Crosby or AO with a possibilty of being Malkin.

Making a choice between Ozzy and Conk's reminds me of voting in 2004. Kerry and Bush. You basically just had to figure out which was gonna suck worse. Hopefully Babcock makes a better choice then America did.

Just like every season? Last year we coasted in Feb, the year before Jan. The year before that we don't need to speak of until we go back to 2002. Listen I am not a huge panic guy but seriously fella's. Every year I watch a team fall apart at the end of the year and I say to myself, they are not going anywhere. Last year it was the Ducks. We have every reason to worry right now. Look at the teams playing. There is only one in the West that does not scare me when comparing play. Chicago, everyone else is playing like they really want to win. We look like we are not even playing.

I only liked the shootout for about 15 minutes. Once the novelty wore off. I just think it is boring and a little ridiculous. I also agree lets do 2-0 for the win/lose and 1-1 for the tie. If a game MUST be decided pick the 2 wimpiest guys and have them duke it out at center ice. Or better yet have 2 players one from each team sit down bare booty on the ice and the last one to get up wins!!! Now that would be entertainment. Also any team that has cheerleaders automatically loses overtime disputes.

Normally I would dismiss this topic all together. For some reason your passion in writing has me slightly hooked, I mean at least it gives me something to think about! I don't see it being impossible and ofcourse the tastiest is Brody, I would probably give away my ******** for him. I dig Backstrom as well, I think Toskala is a good goaltender and if you put him behind a great defense like he use to have in San Jose he could be good again. Toronto is an awful place to judge someones skill.
