I am not going to be a complete tool and say whatever Cheli wants, Cheli gets. That being said, he is a solid depth defender and a character guy. Like Boost said he is a solid 4-5-6 and on some teams he may even be a 3-4. I don't really get it sometimes on here, why we like to just unbutton our pants and sit on one of our players and poop till it hurts. I am far some saying that we are lost without him but his leadership is nothing to shrug at. I think sometimes we are spoiled with our team, so much so that we think mid-level players are complete garabage. Go get Cheli, Holland. I mean we know you have done such a crappy job signing this season!

I really think the most difficult thing with Sid is... He played us in the Finals. People find resentments for him, I think that it is okay to do that. I think Sid is a good player. I also think AO is better. He is the Pens, he is the Captian and noone else on the team should be. I do think he gets over hyped due to the fact that he is the poster boy, that he is compared to Wayne. The biggest reason that he is so ridiculed around here is because we started a very shallow rivalry with them and of all the Playoff's the were our best opponents. If we played the Caps I bet the tables would be turned a bit and people would have a little hater-aid for AO. I am far from a AO slappy like some but he does have a bit more charisma. That also is something I kinda like about Sid, the quiet Yzerman type personality. It is just like some people like wheaties while others really dig fruity pebbles, it really just depends on what you feel like for breakfast. Edit: WOW I must be really tired....

Bettman is to the NHL what Kwami Kilpatrick is to Detroit. He did a few decent things but the bad is so great that it is hard to notice. I think the only answer one needs is that we lost 1.5 years of hockey due to him. He treats thestrong hockey cities like crap. Makes up ridiculous rules and adjust things to his liking. Like an earlier post, I don't understand why it is a big deal if a hockey fan never played the game??? Actually that is kind of s***ty to even say. I really enjoyed Ironman, The Hulk, Batman, and Hancock but I have never been a superhero. Sometimes watching hockey with hockey fans that have played can be annoying because we tend to act like we know everything. Fire Bettman. I don't like him and I will just leave it at that. Harold and NFM have already said everything that could possibly be said.

Man the Crosby drama follows everywhere!! I know some do not like supporting or praising your own players but.... I think Datsyuk is a bit underrated. Fantastic on both sides of the ice. I think there are others but my scope is to slight. As far as overrated, I am not really sure I can only think short sighted and selfishly. I want to go into goalies for my overrated.... Osgood. True. Agree to disagree. I was a huge Crosby fan since he came in the league. Then the 2008 playoff's happened and I noticed that he looked a bit lathargic (spelling) and seemed to always be camped out on the net. Forget the "cry-baby" stuff. You can go read every post I ever tryped about Sid and you will see that I have never called him a cry baby. He is talented and has years to develop. Side by side comparison to OV right now and in my opinion OV has the edge. he is more offensively skilled and a bit more flashy and exciting to watch. He has more ability on the defensive end. Nevermind all of the "personality", broken nose and five goals, he is a machine. I was the exact opposite at the beginning of the season. It is not that Sid is over hyped but for me he has yet to live up to the hype. I think Malkin was more important to the regular season the Sid. I don't have to call off anything. I was not that worried when the puck hit Sids stick as when it hit Hossa's! Even Malkin I know he was invisible but I was sure he was going to turn it on. I care because that is the topic that we are discussing, it is really annoying when people get so upset when others differ from thier opinion. Whats funny friend is you tell everyone to settle the f*** down but your the only one going crazy over it. Anyhow my opinion is AO is a much better player then Crosby. I do watch quite a bit of hockey, alot of Pens and Hawks games too. I don't feel the need to get in a pissing contest. Crosby is a little overhyped and I think if I was very wrong you would not get so upset about it. The truth hurts maybe? Crosby racks up alot of points by camping out on the left side of the net. Malkin carried the team for about half the season when Sid was out. Whatever.

Agreed that this list is stupid. Don't the Lions sell out everygame??? Also, somebody cares about every team. There is always a small extremely loyal group of fans. I don't like this list. Appearantly I am feeling defensive today!!!!

Nice read O_H. (Still the continues winner of the scariest Avavtar award) I have to admit that when the whole OV hype started I refused to jump on. The last season's end though really showed the level of player the young man is. Better then Crosby? HELL YES!!!!!!! That is just my opinion though. Crosby is nothing more then a media conglomerate, a decent player that never lives up to the hype. OV is a player that far exceeds his hype. I know we cannot here the article but it reads like OV does not even give a crap that Crosby is the NHL'S hero, he seems very content with being Washington's hero...

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. Seriously guys, do you want to be worshipped wherever you go in the world? No adversity? No rivalry? Chicago used to be one of our great rivalries and finally they have an exciting team to watch and they are trying to get there fans back.. Plus that has been the chant in that house for years!!!!!!

Yeah right. Leclaire is a good goalie. I don't think it is true because Leclaire probably won't make that much and at least he played some quality time as a goalie.

I never really liked the "next ___" question. I am not trashing just saying it is not possible. There will never be the "next" Yzerman, Wayne, Messier. If they are truly the "next" somebody then they would not need to be the "next" they would be the Toews, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Ovechkin and so on and so on. As soon as they become the "next" anybody they have made thier own image. Does that make any sense....

What a waste of a good and exciting goaltender. I refuse to get caught up in thinking all the dramatics were from him. Atleast not last season. He was treated like a pile of crap, he minded the net for the Sens to the finals. Then he was booted from his job as soon as 07-08 started. Coach Paddock (i think that was his name) treated the entire team like crap, which eventually costed him his job for the remainder of the season. With the right leadership, guidance, purpose and motivation anyone can improve "attitude". I think he was kinda left out in the cold. Oh well Emery, Good Luck!

There is something very wrong with one person complianing when he also trashes the market and franchise of Edmonton. That is ridiculous. Yes. Lowe said some very negetive things. Lets not forget that Burke said almost the same thing just in differant words when addressing Lowe failing the team and the market and tossing a gernade at everyone else. It is just BS and it drives me crazy.

To me the biggest piece of Bull Poopy here is that after several media lashings from Burke, Bettman only decides to interact once Lowe finally responds. Over and over again Burke can do whatever the f he wants and say whatvever the f he wants and someone speaks up against him and Bettman is thier to rescue his embarresment. I hope Lowe does not keep quiet and I think this is another reason why people need to look into the Leadership in the NHL and the crooked ways it does buisness. Kudos to Lowe.

Cheli to me is one of the players that can play as long as he likes. Plus, he is still competetive. He is not the best out there but far from a liability. If Lilja can still play so can Cheli.

This article does not bother me. He basically drilled in the fact the penguins are the best in the East. He also continued to throw Detroit props by saying things the dd compare to the Wings. He is a little over confident but if he truly is a wings fan and not some media bum faking the funk, should'nt he be? They had a winning season regardless if there is a conspiracy of if the NHL wants them to win. I also like that he said the Malkin has the potential to be the best in the world but Crosby has to improve. Finally not a Crosby wanker...

I am usually not one to say this but why is this even a thread? Why does it matter if people say the Wings are a lock? It does not effect what will happen next year. If you don't think your team is going to win then why even watch. I go in every season thinking they can do it, if I think they can't then I probably should not watch.
