1. Did one of our goalies get pulled after 3 in the first. Differance? They came back and won that game. 2. We just lost to Chicago by four goals as well. 3. Did we take every Central team lightly, since we got beat up by all of them the worst this year. I do think the wings will win it, hopefully the Wings do not have the same view as some of us cause they may not come out to win.

Chicago??? 2-7. I think Chicago is the last team I want to play, seen as how we have the worst record against them. I am not so sure you have listened to the arena when on TV. I have been to the arena, the fans are loud, supportive, aggressive, nasty and electric. They are pretty f'n loud. The seats will be sold out, for sure. Will the Joe? Who knows... I can tell you after being to 18 games this season, the fans in the Joe are quiet and unmotivated. Usually if you are loud and rowdy someone gives you s*** for it.

You know that is the best idea I have heard in a long time!!!! Seriously that could work. Mac could retain his hero of hockeytown title and do little to keep it!!!! Could not have said it better myself!!!!

I am positive, just realistic as well. If every series was a walk in the park, would it be the playoff's??? I think the wings can win but they need to come with the spirit of a winner. I truly hope we see it!

Not sure why you put the "hot" in qoutation marks but past shows a good or even mediocre goalie on a "hot" streak can win the playoff's for a team. I am just saying don't count them out. Choking on the big stage? Well Cam Ward sure did not a few years back and he is not great by any means. I suppose that I will just choose to be cuatious that way if something bad does happen I won't feel so nieve or embarressed. Unfortunatly it is not all up to Hasek. It is up to a whole lot more. You know the other key points in the game, offense, defense, power play and lastly the penalty kill. Oh and I forgot, if Dom can't hang we have the Wonderful Wizard...

Hey man, take a laxative. I think you are binded up. It is all in fun homie. What if another team lifts it then the funniest thing they can come up with is something made by a Wings fan!!! Then we can call them out!!! The good Lord skipped you on sense of humor day, huh? Shame. I think that sometime definitly has to much free time on it's hands, I mean after all it is sometimes... Lizz, F'em if they cannot take a joke. Seriously think about it though if another fan from one of the other teams lifts it and uses it to bash us, I think that would be just great. I don't think I would stop luaghing... On the flip, seriously can you give Meech my number. Wowza!!!!!

I think Nashville is a young and very talented team. I think more importantly Trotz has something to prove here this post season. The man has not been successful in the post season yet with a few tries. I think this is his last year to do it or he will be canned, actually, did he sign a new deal. I remember that for some reason. I think thier is a couple things with this team. Dan friggin' Ellis. Hot, hot, hot. First time in the playoff's. Cam Ward or Fluery. Hopefully a Fluery but he has the right juice to pull a ward. They are fast, frisky, and gritty. Never any real fancy goals come from them but the can pound away until something gets in. I don't believe in Cinderella stories in the NHL because half the friggin' league makes it in to play. So I don't buy that, but they had to fight to get in and did not know till the last minute which gives them energy because they are amp'd. They have never beaten the wings in a series or won a series at all. Laws of probability say it will eventually happen. I hope not but the wings lacksadasical (spelling) scares me, I do think they have a possibilty. Hopefully everyone is right and the wings are looking like they due because there is nothing to win for, but I am not so sure. PS!!!!! Where is Detroit Ian at???? At the beginning of the season we had a huge arguement about wether the Preds could make it or not and he was pretty insulting when explaining that the preds suck and will never make it this season. I just would like to serve him his hot plate of crow....

Wow incredible. I totally want Carcillo on the wings, an enforcer that fights VERY well and can score!!!!!! I want him!!!
-
That is the question, and I am not prepared to answer. I do know he is a very skilled netminder with good numbers for how many games he has played. I thought Toskala was undefeated against us. I might be wrong though, either way good point!

I was being sarcastic. Sorry, I should have put the ninja...
-
No. They suck. Worst team ever. Absolutely horrible forget that the shut almost any opposition down besides there own division, most won't be around. The wings are stupid. Worst players ever, you never see them laying anyone out. Espiacally Kronwall or others. Oh and I hate April fools and am not going to look at this site again. Until tomorrow

The Sharks will definitly be in the WCF. No way the ducks make it, I will put money on that. Also Minny looks good. Backstrom is on fire and they have a strong possibility. I am not so sure it is all Campbell making such a difference. I think that is more on timing, yes he is putting up great numbers but if you chose one person to give the credit of the sharks success it would have to be Mister Nabster

My friend and I had a discussion following the Friday night following the game. We discussed the Cap and the effects that it has had on the NHL and league. We were looking at the teams salary and discussed the ability to get talent from the bottom of the draft. My friend said that the CBA will not effect the powerhouse that is the Wings because the ability of the brass to draft well and low. He also stated that players want to play for a winning orginization and will continue to resign here for a discounted price. I agree with some points. I do believe there are some players that want to sign here for cheap because it is a good organization but I think the cup in 2002 was the one good example of this. Datsyuk could have demanded more on the market but not much more. Not last year, this year he could get 8.5-9. But eventually the league will be able to get the talent we would like. Eventually the league will even out with the Wings. The already started evening out with each other. As far as the drafting low but gaining high, again eventually that will have to subside. I mean I love the wings and want them to stay great but reality seems to be that eventually we will be a run of the mill team with some stars? What do you guys think?

Before the month of March, Johan had 15 goals in 66 games. That is a goal every 4.4 games. The injury previous to this one was the one I was thinking about. I think it was the month of December but Homer went on a huge point streak. I am not taking anything from Johan, he is a great player. I just don't think Homer is mediocre as you make him to be.
-
Sometimes it bothers me too. I espiecally do not like howw fast people flip flop. Look at it this way though, they are being discussed. I am sure noone wants to rid of either at hand just discuss the differances, without that Mat may be unemployed.
-
I think the recent play of Johan is deluding your opinion of Homer. Man this happens so much on here. Homer is known and feared by every goalie in the league. He has his own knickname from the NHL as a whole not just the team. The refs look for the "Demolition Man" because he does his job so good he has to be specially looked at. He is as tough as nails and an enormous asset to this team. I am not down grading Johan his achievments are great, but I am not sure he can replace Homer. Just my opinion. This team without Homer in the playoff's is weakened. Before his injuries he was on a very similar streak as Johan... VERY!!!!

My view. I have said all year Dats brings more to the table then Z. I got lynched earlier in the year for saying that. People wanted my head. I am glad people can look outside just the goal stat. Datsyuk is a maltitude of elements on the ice. He is a playmaker, a great puck handler, of the greatest set-up/playmakers, a brilliant defensive mind, can be physicaly occasionally and has good leadership potential. I believe Datsyuk to be the corner stone of the team in the future. Anyone who plays with him benefits. Which drives me crazy when people say he should not get consideration for the Hart. I get that AO because he broke the 60 goal mark. I get Malkin because he actually is pretty similar to Dats but I still think Dats has the edge. I get Lids. Guys, these are the typical answers. Hear me out on this. AO is amazing, no doubt but most VALUABLE in the league I am not so sure. Malkin probably gets the nod a bit more to me, and Datsyuk did the same things Malkin did this year. Most Valuable Player is more the just goals and points. Dats is that package. He has gone I think somewhere around 180ish games in a row. He has elevated his team during injuries. Provides leadership and sticks up for his team mates. Malkin gets more attention then him because of the story that follows Crosby. I do not know one goalie that should get the hart over Datsyuk, Malkin or AO. To me these three are the front runners. If the Caps are out I will pull for Dats for the Hart... I won't be upset if it is Malkin... Z is an excellent player but when considering the whole ice, Dats has a slight edge. Really to me the Z and Dats is the same as the Crosby and Melkin with out the media hype. Maybe we can make a fake Birth certificate and say that one of the two is from Canada... It truly is crazy how many side with Dats now, seriously I want to find the thread I got manhandled in for saying this. It is amazing how the point total can change views...

I agree and disagree with you. I know that is almost impossible but hear me out. I do think Lu and JS wear huge pads, probably to big. I think that the goalies of the league really take advantage of the system. I do not think that if anyone straps on huge pads they will be NHL top netminders. I think the size needs to be regulated. Brody is probably the best goalie in the league and he wears smaller pads then the smallest goaltenders, Dom is also a great that does not use oversized pads. I do not get angry when people talk crap about the opposing goalies and you should not either. We are all fans and we all say things in our own way. We make fun of the players, equipment and any other issue they have. It gives us comfort and should not be looked down upon for it. I do think if JS's pads were restricted you wuld see a decline in play.

If a lunch box can cause a crappy evening... Well. If I got there with my five year old and the gave away the last lunch box to a 17 year old I would be pissed...

Hey 96Homer your GDT's get better everytime. Love it! Great job!!!! D-Mac comes back tonight!!!! I am excited hopefully he will get some minutes. Maybe I should play a drinking game that everytime he gets on the ice I drink. Then I will be able to drive home....

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! Now that you have started this thread you have jinxed the Wings into going out in the first round. Damn it you got ahead of yourself now the typed words displayed in this thread have surely altered the outcome of the game... Damn you. We have surely lost now.
-
I disagree. There is absolutely nothing to lose by playing him now. Besides whoever he replaces won't get injured. If this was game one of the playoff's I would not understand the point. But the last few boring games between the same 3-4 teams they have been since March 1st...

True I suppose your right. Ofcourse the older cases of the flu are not a fair example really, considering the modern med have come a long way since then. I guess I am just a little concerned. I have had the flu, twice, just last year was the last. Maybe just because I had a minor case but I was only off for one day. Took some meds and I was not a hundred % but I was back on my feet at work. The first time I was in Korea and we were in the middle of a really long training excercise. i came down with it and that day was horrible, long and exhuasting. I slept all day in a trailor, it was 95 degress and painful. The next day I was fully operational. I don't know I guess the older you are the harder it is to get over. Dom is an antique... LOL!!! Well Dom, get better soon.

Lou ya know I have been a huge advocate of Mac returning and I remember when it all started you and I had a debate that Mac replacing Downer and since then you made me watch Downer perform more closely adn I would hate to see Mac replace him. They could make a nice one, two punch. I have become a pretty good fan of the Downer since that debate. I could see Mac replacing Drake but only when he proves he is better cause Drake has been bringing some energy out there himself making a bit of an impact. I am very happy he returns, I hope he does amazing out there and blows everyone's mind but I will just enjoy his return as well. Funny story, I recently gave birth (my wife not me) on Easter sunday. They were seriously talking about inducing labor if the baby had not come by Monday and they were going to induce on wensday. Which is/was the 26th. Ofcourse. Well if that would have happened we were going to name hime Darren Steven. Did not work out that way but I was routing for it!!!

i know I will get killed for this but I agree with changing the rule. I think it is a stupid way to lose your career. Almost everytime the defenseman gets to the puck. I just feel like it would change so little to the game but so much for the injury prevention. I do not think it makes the league less manly or more peewee, that is silly. I think other rules should get changed to. I think since the instigator rule there has been more dirty hits and more injury so I am not looking to pussify the sport. I love hitting, fighting and all around face paced games but I would hate to lose Nick Lidstrom, or any of our defenseman because they were trying to get the icing call. Control your puck in your zone and now worries. I am also intersted in not changing it if only they would call the current rule more often. Stop calling the stupid ass hooking calls because someone was grazed with a stick and make the calls that prevent the injuries. That is just me....
