This should be a very exciting game. Still I cannot believe that their goaltending can stand up to our offensive power. I am not so sure about Ott's secondary scoring. So we may be able to wear down their first line. Go Wings!!!!!!

If I were an NHL player I would be more concerned with lifting the Cup the lining my already deep pockets. It is not like we are talking like in real life where you have the choice to make $20 with a crappy company or $10 with a great one, that $10 raise makes a huge differance in our "normal" life. Instead of taking almost $10 mil, take $7-$8 mil and give the organization some room to build the team. That is a long time for the Caps never to raise a cup. What a beautiful career wasted on mediocre seasons.... Exactly the point I was trying to make. No one in the league should make more then Crosby!

I don't understand why AO would take that deal. When you take that much money it limits your team's ability to build around you. Does he not want to win the SC? I also don't get how he can make more money then Crosby? As far as Z goes, I don't see how he can ask for more the Daytsuk and Lids? Him and Dats are comparible and Lids is more important to the team. If he wants more he will leave the team I am sure. If he really cares about being succesful he will get probably what Lids gets...

The big nasty still has another year after this why pay him more now? The AO deal is silly anyhow. I wonder how long it will take the caps to raise a stanely cup? I hope they have enough to support AO....

Unfortunatly that is not satisfying to the below average fan. Or to new fans. The allstar compitition has always been dull for people that know little or have little interest. On the other hand the dunk competition is watched by not only NBA fans but the average joe. Thus bringing more attention to the sport. I am not against change, in fact I encourage it. It gets very frustrating to not have many people to talk about the Wings and hockey about. Hell most people snicker when the see how big a fan I am. Would it not be nice to be able to actually talk about hockey in person with people and not always via the forum. The NHL is just trying to spice stuff up, it will probably suck but I am excited that they are trying.

I may be the only one but I have no interest in this at all. Why would we give up a player that has been working hard all season for a charity case? Sorry Mac I love you but I also am fond of history class! Stay in the past. This team needs to make ZERO changes this season. Especially for a washed up player that is recently injury prone! I am a fan of what Mac has done for the Wings but he played a game with the Generals and did not register a single point! Does that sound like someone you want in our franchise. While we are at it why don't we see if Probert wants to come back for a bit if he feels like it. PS For all those who would trade Mac for Drake... Mac went pointless in 32 games, at least Drake has scored a couple in as many....

Nice roster, although I am a little surprised that Timmy Thomas is not getting a nod. And Biron although his performance is rough lately he carried Philly for the first part of the season. I mean brody sucked at the beggining at the season, which is not much differant then Marty having a rough spot now. I am not saying Brody does not deserve it. I am totally stoked about Dipietro (i love american players) and I guess vokuon. So maybe?

I understand the topic of our tandem in Detroit has been beaten to a bloody pulp, but I am taking a differant approach. Could this possibly be the best tandem in the game? Past and present? Every game I watch in wonder to how the tender is handling the puck. Last game I was saying wow I cannot believe how Ozzie is playing out of his mind. I said the same thing tonight about Dom. This has been going forward since Dec begin and Dom begin to play like Ozzy. When at the begining of the season Ozzy played like Dom. I just don't think our netminding can be rivaled. Sure other teams have a great goaltender. Two great goalies though??? And to think we were arguing which should have the job!!! Which leads me to my question. With the rigorous playoff schedule of back and forth to the west coast, could it be possible to platoon the two right through the playoff's??? A differant way to go about buisness. What do you guys think???

You really don't think Jiggy deserves to go do you??? Not over the three picked plus a couple others. For sure Pascal got a little shifted but he has some really bad games this year. Not many but a few. Still shoulda got the nod over Legace. Nabakov definitly gets the nod over every goalie in the West besides Ozzy. He is an iron man goalie. If Legacy and all the others played as much as Nabs they would not have the numbers they have now.

Nice post! I really did not know the other thread was around until after. You would definitly have to narrow it down but for example the Nabakov/Toskala tandem was very impressive last year where Nabs got I think 62 starts and Toss the rest.

I am in favor of continuing the tandem through the playoff's if both goalies are still dominating. What is sad is that we cannot just realize that we may have the best goaltending tandem in history. No I would hate to say the word playoff's in my post becuase god knows as soon as I do that the wings will lose every game and not ever make the playoff's cuase my typed words effect the game like that.
