Rice 42 Report post Posted October 11, 2005 Wow, the year without hockey really screwed me up. After watching the Pistons (and I know its preseason) it makes me wonder how in the hell I watched the majority of games last year, especially after watching the 4 Wings games so far. Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted October 14, 2005 I agree I have been taking a little less interest in the Pistons recently, but I'm sure when the season starts I'll get into the basketball mode once more. Milicic 10 pts (4-5 FG), 9 rbs. This adds to his 4 blocks the previous game. Some good signs.
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted October 14, 2005 Milicic is playing great! Never mind the numbers even, just watching him play like a regular basketball player instead of a kid who's cowering in the corner, waiting for the next beating from his abusive father. Darko is hustling on both ends of the court, playing with confidence and just playing basketball. I'm so impressed that I'm already convinced that he's going to be fine. By the end of last season, I had my doubts that he could even play in the NBA. Right now, based on what I've seen, he's taken the next step. I like Maurice Evans so far, and I think Jason Maxiell will be a perfect fit. The depth in the frontcourt is outstanding. After Ben and Rasheed, you've got Dale Davis, McDyess, Darko and Maxiell. Good mix of young and old in there. If the young guys perform at all, they'll be a fierce group.
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted October 19, 2005 Darko Milicic's pre-season stats: MPG- 21.3 FG%- .458 FT%- .700 RPG- 5.0 APG- 1.3 BPG- 3.50 PPG- 9.0 Every stat category is impressive, particularly blocks, and field-goal percentage. I believe he will be a very good player, and he is showing signs of being a machine on the defensive end!
dallas27 7 Report post Posted October 23, 2005 Awwwwwwwwwww did the Pistons whoop on the overhyped best team in the Eastern Conf. (not really) the Miami Heat? Preseason or not the Pistons owned Shaq and co. last night. Here's the thing about the Pistons this year: They are going to be the deepest team in the NBA in a couple months. EVERYONE has looked good this preseason including *gasp* DARKO!!!! Delfino can drive, hit a mid range jumper, and shoot the 3, Arroyo has been rekindled by Flip, Dice can still hit his turn around j all day, Lindsey is always going to be Lindsey, our rookies look good, and Darko has picked up his play the last few games tremondously (sp?). And as Blue said on both ends of the court, he's grabbing boards and blocking shots. Oh yea, and they have the best starting five in the NBA with a pissed off 15 lb lighter Sheed who wants to atone for his mistake. And if there is anything I learned about Sheed while he has been on this team is that you do not want to be the opposition when he is pissed at you. He will beat you inside, outside, sideways, backwards, anywhere. I think SI and every other sport magazine will be changing their tune half through the season and put Detroit in the ECF which none of them have them in right now. I think Detroit will have to go through the Pacers and not the Heat in the ecf and finally another Spurs Pistons finals becuase they are the best two teams in the NBA, defense and overall. And what does defense win?
