TK19 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2007 It may be insane but it's funny how quite a few times the crowd thought there was a missed call and booed the ref's called a penalty within a minute or so after. It happened at least 4 times last night and 3 times the previous game. Keep in mind that I'm not blaming our losses on the ref's but I guess my homer glasses see it one way and yours see it the other. It's a moot point nonetheless. Mickey was going crazy last night. I remember on one call(well non call at first), the crowd yelled and booed...and 5 secs afterwards the refs arm went up. I mean come on, what is with that? I do think that home crowds can affect the way an official see's the game sometimes(not all just some). And is it just me or do Calgary fans boo every time one of their players falls to the ice? I was getting annoyed by that. Needless to say i still think we win this series. I hope the officiating gets a lot better. And the NHL needs to work on what type of game they are gonna let play during the playoffs. Im sick of seeing an exciting regular season, and a marginal post season. I mean seriously who even watched the Stanley Cup finals last year? I know i didnt. Nobody wants to see lower seeds play each other every year in the finals. But last nights game was the pinacle of horribe calls. That hooking call on Datsyuk that gave them their SECOND 5 on 3 was the biggest load of bulls*** ive ever seen. No doubt about it, they gave the flames that game. Not even being a homer here, thats just a fact. Even my boy James(who is a massive flames fan) admitted that those 5 on 3s were litterally gifts from the refs. His argument is, "well even though they were 5 on 3 they still have to score the goals". Which we all know in the NHL, if you have a 5 on 3, you might as well say thats a goal. On average atleast. And ill even admit that the flames had a few bad calls towards them too. But no where near the amount of complete bulls*** calls given to us. Last nights officiating was a total discrace. Amen...I agree 100%. The officiating has ruined this series (and is ruining the NHL)...I'm not even excited to watch game 5 anymore because I know it's just going to be more of the same. Ditto, unbelievably horrible, they miss the real calls and call all the dives, most of which are by the Flames The call on Schnieder was the worst, he just barely touches the guys back and he falls to the ice, give that guy a Academy award. They don't see the elbow to Hasek but see the stick pointing They are also looking the other way when the Wings are getting held all game long.
