58Miles2Joe 12 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 (edited) I keep hearing about how Babcock is preaching to shoot more. I keep yelling at Sammy to shoot less. This got me wondering who has the most shots per minute of ice time on average. I looked for a good stats site to help me out, but had no luck. CBS had one, but it sucked; you have to look thru the whole league and tally it manually. Anyone know of a good site for this? Found one...pretty obvious in retrospect: http://www.nhl.com/superstats/index.html Edited February 14, 2008 by 58Miles2Joe
58Miles2Joe 12 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 (edited) Alright, fine. I'll do it myself. Sheesh, can't even be lazy around here. So here it is ! Through 58 games, according to ESPN, and my calculations, here are your average number of shots per average amount of time on the ice in minutes, in order of most to least: Samuelsson 0.2008 (i.e. .2 shots per minute of ice time) Hank 0.1999 Cleary 0.1606 Dats 0.1559 Franzen 0.1228 Homer 0.1135 Hudler 0.1130 Kopecky 0.1021 Nick 0.0948 Rafalski 0.0911 Ellis 0.0889 Draper 0.0879 Filppula 0.0877 Lebda 0.0871 Kronwall 0.0718 Maltby 0.0584 Chelios 0.0502 Lilja 0.0474 Drake 0.0468 Downey 0.0310 Meech 0.0247 Hartigan 0.0085 Shook out pretty much the way I'd expect it to. Cleary and Franzen a bit of a surprise. Nick lower than I'd have thought, but maybe Homer is tipping them all. oh, Flipper is low.
