The Islanders have re-signed Trent Hunter to a 5 year, 10M dollar contract

Yeah but hes only 27, has already had 2 20 goal seasons in 4 years and last year was 5th in the league in hits along with having 20 goals.

Thats a steal, and a great rule of thumb in signing Dan Cleary. 4 years/10M?

Yeah that is true he is only 27. I'd say Cleary gets around the same, maybe not a 5 year deal but a 4 like you said.

This should be one hell of a deal if Hunter gets back to form he displayed earlier in his career. And you're absolutely correct, it's a good omen for Cleary. He could take a similiarly underpriced contract with some term, given that he's finally found a team that he can stay at.
