Guest Crymson Report post Posted March 1, 2008 (edited) I recently purchased Center Ice Online. Most feeds are perfect. The Wings feed is terrible. It consistently freezes, forcing me to close the connection and re-open it. Tonight, at some stages it was happening several times per minute. At many other stages it was choppy. At some points over the past few games, the feed has simply crashed for several minutes. This is not my connection. All other feeds are flawless. Does anyone else have this issue? Duck Guy 86 Report post Posted March 1, 2008 (edited) Ya. Sometimes that happens to me also. Happens to the wings games and sometimes other games also. Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted March 1, 2008 Well.. my guess is it's a regional error. Your in Colorado, and both me and DuckGuy are in the LA area. The longer the signal carries the weaker it gets (even with today's internet). With most internet stuff it doesn't matter anymore, but with video it still matters. I'd suggest looking at where the games are located in comparison to how good the video is. I haven't used the CenterIce internet package. I use SoPcast to watch the Wings games. I assume by next season I'll have a TV (yes I don't currently own a TV) and will use CenterIce on it.
Donaldjr2448 43 Report post Posted March 1, 2008 Yes this happens to me during every game!! Tonight the problem was that the game was in HD, so I had to watch it on the little screen! If I put the game to a full screen it was so blurry you couldn't tell what was going on! I hope by next year the problem will be fixed. If you have more problems with the games crashing, try plugging the your computer directly into your modem. If you have wireless it seems to hurt the feed. I actually went out a bought a Linxys Broadband router and how the wireless is flawless! Your not the only one though Crymson!!
Yemack 1 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 I've had a problem with CI online but I fixed it with few driver updates (or downgrading the driver) Also I meddled with Windows Media Player setting and now everything's fine.
Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted March 2, 2008 Yeah... that's another thing. Windows Media Player's streaming abilities suck. Try VLC if you can, otherwise set the windows media player to buffer 90 seconds of content. You'll be delayed 90 seconds, but your show will be better.
