awingsincebirth 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 The Ducks have some real glaring problems that I think were highlighted through this game. The big one, of course, is goal scoring. Besides Getzlaf and Selanne, none of their forwards are really all that reliable on the offensive end. But, O wait! They hit a lot, so that makes them the best. Also, the Wings have much bigger secondary scoring issues than the Ducks do.

Yak19 303 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 And we were fortunate against the Sharks.. I thought we played the sharks well, we had a timely goal (Lang) but it wasn't off a sj error. But i will say that you need some good fortune to win in the playoffs.

UKWING 8 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 I said from the beginning that Dallas creates bizarre problems for Anaheim. I don't think they can sustain this for the length of the series, at least without Zubov, but they're going to make it very hard on Anaheim if nothing else. I don't really understand why the Stars match up so well with the Ducks. The Stars aren't the same kind of bruising team, but the more physical the Ducks get, the more it seems to play into Dallas' hands. i think turco's ability to handle the puck is a big factor. the ducks really struggled to forecheck effectively tonight as turco kept clearing their dump-ins. he really takes a lot of pressure of the stars d-men. another key to beating anaheim is to take advantage of the numerous power plays you will get and dallas does just that. the ducks won't be as bad as that again but they are still going to find it very difficult to win this series if the stars can keep up the same level of performance as last night. Yes sir, would be great to see Dallas go through and knock off the Quacks as we have some kind of Voodoo over Turcs and the Stars.
Hank 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 Good job Stars! Giggy played like crap! Despite looking like a damn billboard, he let in 4 goals, with at least 3 of them being very stoppable. And after the game he sort of called out his defense by saying they needed to get more bodies in front to block passes and such. Hey Stay-Puft! How about you stuff a few more cushions under your shirt and actually stop shots that the majority of goalies would have. Keep it up Stars! I'd love nothing more than see Colorado beat Minnesota so we play them while the Sharks play Dallas.
RedLightGoesOn 81 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 Glad the Sharks shutout the Flames, let me tell you how upset I would be if they lost both at home and went to Calgary for 2 games. How 'bout them Stars? Turco was bringing it to the defending champions. Has anyone noticed that 3 games so far in 2 days have had shutouts? some hot goaltending....too bad Hasek had a bad deflection, but I think he played solid.
