I also know that last year, some contract bonuses got put on the following year's (this year) cap. I am wondering, since we have so much space this year, are we allowed to pile all of this year's bonuses on this year's cap? This would be very advantageous and would finally make use of all that extra space so we have more room on next year's cap. Does anyone know how this works? Guest Crymson Report post Posted May 28, 2008 (edited) They indeed may. The extra cap space that wasn't used at the deadline was not 'wasted.' I'm not so sure about Hasek's bonus. I think his were based on how far he could get us into the playoffs, meaning games played and he has been watching. Regardless, the Wings are fine and they will carry over no cap-overage into the upcoming season. Salary Cap: $53 million - Team Salary: $48.32 million (including Mac and Stuart) Total Remaining: $4.68 million - Dom's Bonus: $2 million - Chelios' Bonus: $0.300 million Total Remaining below the Cap: $2.38 million.......which equals, BOOYAH HOLLAND!
