10 Minute Misconduct

Championship parade

Finished up editing the parade on the DVR and got it on to a DVD. Quality isn't that great for a majority of it but that's what you get when you are recording a broadcast that is 5 hours long. I have two files as the DVR filled up but I recorded the part of the parade when it was live and had to edit it so where the recording stopped it picks up again with second file. Gonna go with yzefan's instructions so wish me luck.

Not sure utorrent is gonna work because the file structure of the DVD I made is like the file structure of a DVD movie with IFO, VOB and BUP files. Any thoughts. Remember that the DVD of the parade is about 4 hours long with all of pre parade coverage (I edited out all of the commercials and believe me there were a lot of commercials)

I may have used utorrent and piratebay a couple times merely for research... ;) anyway I might be able to help here. There are two ways to rip stuff: to play back on a PC (convert to .avi or .mpeg files) or to play back on DVD player (what you have done). You will want to keep all those files in a folder, although it will be quite large most likely. From there, you'll want to make an archive of that folder (an archive is a lot of little files that can be downloaded together to get one big file). This is the standard way of uploading things via torrent. You can create this archive with a free program called WinRAR (can get it on download.com). When you open up the winrar program it will have options for compression and setting number of files (example is say that folder is 6 GB, you can compress to maybe 4.5 GB using this program, then also split it into say 40 separate smaller files which is the archive). Then once you've got your winrar archive set you can upload/post it on the website 'piratebay.org'. Doing all of this of course is the hard part and if you can pull it off I'm sure there will be many grateful people. The easy part is for all of these people to download it. That is quite simple and will need no explanation unless asked for, however they will need to get software as well to turn that archive into a DVD. First they will also need winrar to "extract" the DVD folder from all the smaller archive files. Then from there they will need to get a special DVD burning program such as "RipIt4Me", or there's the older combo of DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter, but the newer RipIt4Me is much simpler (all these programs are free). I know that was the longest post of all time, sorry. I'm sure there are plenty of you guys out there who are even more knowledgeable about this stuff so feel free to add any input.

Thanks for the input. Converting the DVD to a RAR as I write. Will post when I get it up on piratebay.

Alright, hopefully this worked

http://thepiratebay.org/tor/4231419/RW_Parade_2_of_5

http://thepiratebay.org/tor/4231420/RW_Parade_3_of_5

http://thepiratebay.org/tor/4231422/RW_Parade_4_of_5

http://thepiratebay.org/tor/4231424/RW_Parade_5_of_5

Let me know if this worked for you guys. If not, I'd be more than happy to snail mail a copy of the DVD (maybe just cover the shipping costs) so PM if you would like one. Might need to read the earlier posts in this thread to get this working.

Seeding:

When you download a torrent file, you're downloading from peers and seeds. Peers only have parts of the file, while seeds have the entire file. If there is no seed to begin with, no peers get any part of the file, and you, well you just frown and find a new link with seeders.

If no one is seeding it won't download.

Okay, that's all well and good. How do you do it, though?
