Firehawk 305 Report post Posted October 8, 2008 My sister just moved from here to Chicago to do her Rotations (she's almost a doctor). Anyways, she was thinking about getting the NHL center ice package so she could catch all the wings games. My question is, do all of the red wing games appear on NHL center ice? I looked through their Ocotber schedule and every game is on there unless it's nationally televised on Versus HD (like tomorrow, which is the only one not on NHL center ice). So, for those who get NHL center ice, are all of the games not nationally televised, on NHL center ice? She doesn't want to pay the 150 bucks and only get half the games or something. Guest Shoreline Report post Posted October 8, 2008 (edited) She will probably end up getting like.. 65-75 (give or take 5 outside that range) games with Center Ice, if outside the the local area FSD naturally serves. I've had Center Ice for like 5 seasons in a row now (not counting lockout) and they are very good about broadcasting Wings games. The only ones I have not seen regularly show up on Center Ice channels (DirecTV) are Versus games. NBC has even shown up on the Center Ice channels when they carry several games divided nationally by local team(s). There might also be a couple games on NHL Network, which doesn't require the Center Ice subscription. Oh, also, there may be a couple games you might not get if there are any broadcasted on some local channel, like FOX2. Anyways, expect FAR more than half of the Wings games on Center Ice. Edit: Corrected the NBC/ABC mess-up. Edited October 9, 2008 by Shoreline
thedisappearer 291 Report post Posted October 9, 2008 (edited) I am a Wings fan outside of Detroit with Center Ice. I have never missed a game. Most are on FSN Detroit, some are on FSN whatever area we are playing, a few are on Vs, and at the end of the year, Saturday games *may* be on NBC. I have never missed a game. If you have Center Ice and Vs, you are good for 82 games of goodness. Plus at least 16 playoff games. Edited October 9, 2008 by thedisappearer

I think there were only 5 or 6 games that weren't on NBC/Versus that weren't on Center Ice last season. And I think 2 of them were on the NHL Network simulcast of FSN Detroit. You will have more trouble finding time to watch all of them than having to worry about if you will get screwed and they won't be on. Hell, it's still cheaper than going to two games!
