Chris L 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 (edited) I stripped myself of all my superstitions last year. For 1998 cup win, I couldn't wear a stitch of red anywhere all day. And If I so much as touched a winged wheel, they'd loose. In 2002, when they'd flag during the game, I'd have to shave between the periods to get them going. Then, last year, I realized removing all trappings of hockey so I could watch hockey was stupid. So I got shaggy and wore Wings stuff or not, it was totally random. I have a Wings Zephyr hat that I like, but its really comfortable so of my hats, that one usually wins. The boys will win or die tonight on their effort. Its up to them to dig deep, play the full 60 minutes, stick to their game and make the Ducks play to the Wings system, not the other way around. If our boys do that, we'll win this one by two goals. AndaPanda 2 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 I have a special pair of pj's that I wore the night before every playoff game last year. That trend has continued this year. It is pretty funny because the pants have holes in them and the elastic waist is coming undone, but I still wear them. Next, I cannot buy anything Red Wings related while the playoffs are going on. This comes from my boyfriend who was waiting for his Datsyuk shirt in 07 when there were playing the Ducks. He got the shirt, wore it and then they lost. Last year, it worked! I have a couple of blankets that go on my bed. I have a certain way of folding them and a certain order of how they are stacked. My boyfriend has some pretty interesting ones. We have a toilet seat that he customized himself. On the top is the Red Wings logo and then on the bottom is Hockeytown. It is a pretty awesome seat. Anyway, depending on whether it is a home game or an away game determines if the seat is up or down. Finally, I have a bracelet that I got last year. I haven't worn it at all in these playoffs, but I have it on right now in hopes that it gives them good luck.
Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted May 14, 2009 The game is not over until it's over. I don't talk about the game or the series in terms of finality until it's actually a finality. Same goes with shutouts. If Ozzie has one going, I don't even think to mention it. I just say, "Wow, Ozzie has had some good stops tonight".
