K-Wings to ECHL, possible new Red Wing affiliate?

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

The ECHL BoG has officially accepted the Kalamazoo Wings membership application to their league... presser at 1 PM in Kalamazoo tomorrow. I browsed the ECHL web site and it looks like the Red Wings don't have an ECHL affiliate lines up as of yet. Anyone think that the Wings would find an advantage of having an ECHL team right near their AHL team??? Edited by Gizmo

They did have the Toledo Storm. With the return of a Toledo ECHL team, I dont know if the Wings would keep the old alignment or go with a team that hasn't had a hiatus.

The "Toledo Walleye" are returning to the ECHL and have a presence on the ECHL website, but their affiliation is still listed as "TBD" just like the K-Wings.

These things I know, I just refuse to call the Storm by such a crappy name as the Walleye. Goaldiggers, Blades, Mercurys, Storm, but NOT Walleye.
