Guest DatsyukianDeke13 Report post Posted February 12, 2010 1. Ottawa @ Detroit - 7 p.m. 2. Anaheim @ Calgary - 10 p.m. 3. Dallas @ Phoenix - 8 p.m. 4. Nashville @ New Jersey - 7 p.m. Current Standings: 1. San Jose 2. Chicago 3. Vancouver 4. Phoenix 5. Los Angeles 6. Colorado 7. Nashville 69 pts 8. Calgary 67 pts ------------------------- 9. Dallas 66 pts 10. Detroit 66 pts In a perfect world, the Wings win, Calgary and Dallas lose. However, Nashville's next two games are against New Jersey and Pittsburgh. IF Calgary and Dallas both lose (in regulation) and Detroit wins, we head into the Olympic Break with a Playoff Spot.
InKennyWeTrust 126 Report post Posted February 13, 2010 I still haven't lost hope and I feel like an idiot for it. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I keep thinking that the softer feel of the Olympics could ignite our scorers and some of our defense can get healed up and congeal. We're a much better team than how we're playing, I don't think we "suck."

McAwesome 754 Report post Posted February 13, 2010 I agree that the Red Wings need to start playing like they actually give a crap and want to have some control over their own playoff destiny, but in our current situation, we definitely need a little help from above. I think that both Calgary and Dallas will lose, but I am not as confident in our chances of beating an unexpectedly dangerous Ottawa team. That being said, I think that if Lilja and Kronwall can both go tomorrow, that will be a tremendous boost at both ends of the ice, Lilja will make our PK better with his shot blocking and improved positional play over Lebda/Meech, and Kronwall gives us another physical presence and helps our inexplicably anemic 2nd PP unit with him at the point. Here's my lines FWIW: Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Holmstrom Franzen/Filppula/Bertuzzi Draper/Helm/Cleary Williams/Miller/Maltby Lidstrom/Rafalski Kronwall/Stuart Lilja/Ericsson

The 4 OTL can be considered as 2 wins, so the optimist could look at it as being 4-4 lol. I agree with you, we don't deserve to make the playoffs, however, hockey is not about who deserves what. I could careless if we don't deserve the playoffs but do to the bad play of others we get in. As long as we get in though....I can't imagine starting the offseason 2 week of April.
