Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted March 3, 2010 Per TSN: HIP SURGERY SIDELINES FLYERS' EMERY FOR THE SEASON The Philadelphia Flyers announced Tuesday that netminder Ray Emery will be sidelined for the rest of the season with a hip injury. "Ray Emery will have surgery in the near future to repair his right hip," said general manager Paul Holmgren in a team statement. "He is suffering from avascular necrosis and will have a bone graft done to alleviate his hip issues. Ray will be out for the remainder of the season." In 29 games this season, Emery is 16-11-1 with a 2.64 goals against average and .905 save percentage with three shutouts. He signed a one-year deal with the Flyers last June. Well hey, that whole Emery experiment worked out for them.

Z Winged Dangler 2,082 Report post Posted March 3, 2010 oh, and good thing the flyers shipped biron to a team that already has 14 and a half goalies. have fun on deadline clarky...call all your friend and see if he has a 3rd string to lend you.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted March 3, 2010 Biron to the Isles actually turned out to be good for them, seeing how DiPietro is more fragile than a pane of thin glass. Too bad for the Flyers, Biron fit in well with them.

Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted March 3, 2010 Leighton actually was pretty solid for them after being reacquired. However, I don't see them going far with a Leighton/Boucher tandem.
