Did anyone notice after ottawa pulled their goalie he was sitting on the bench and someone handed him an ottawa baseball cap...... with the number 93 written on the brim. Hehehe -
I played in a reasonable popular band in Canada, grew up in a big hockey town, went to university in a big hockey town and I've been to a couple hockey camps, so I've been fortunate enough to meet and talk to a lot of hockey guys. I'm surprised that most of them are actually just normal guys. Toronto Sun Party (we played there) Nik Kyprios (sp?) Mats Sundin Tie Domi Don Cherry (a great guy, took my name on a napkin and followed up with a package of signed stuff for my handicapped brother in law - he's classy, it's an act on TV) Played at Brian Savages (MTL) Vincent Damphousse (signed my buddies MTL jersey with a huge "F***IN' A!" hahah) Brian Savage (wife was smokin!) Most of the Canadiens at that point(not a huge fan, sorry don't remember all the names) Scott Stevens through his parents Ken Dryden Wayne Gretzky at a hockey camp (nice guy, spent 15 minutes talking to me) Joe Thorton, Marleau, doug murray and most of the 2008 sharks Jamie Baker Manny Legace (one of the only wings) Gary Suter Sergei Makarov (plays in sj) David Maley (camp) Bernie Nicholls (camp - for some reason has a helmet that cheli autographed, didn't understand why) Jeff Odgers Tom Pederson (teaches in bay area) Rob Zettler Alexander Korolyuk Jeff Norton Doug Gilmour Eric & Brett Lindros (when they were young) Kirk Muller Players I wish I would have met - SteveY, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Howe. Helm has to warm up his hands because he can sign an autograph 2 times faster than any other player.

I agree it's a nice story, and I don't want to be a turd, but check out the kid on the left group of three, up top. Nice head, that's what I imagine Pavel looked like as a child.

I know this is an internet forum, but still I think this is worth saying: Don Cherry is a completely stand up guy. You need to separate the "show" from his off air personality. The flashy, clownish clothes are just part of the persona. I had the pleasure of meeting him at a Toronto Sun party. I introduced myself and asked him if he'd sign the mini hockey stick I picked up earlier in the day. I explained the stick was for my brother in law who was in a car accident and now was paralyzed. Don asked me to write down my address and he'd follow up with some other "stuff". Less than one week later, he sent an absolute TON of stuff, all very personalized (he even remembered my bro-in-law's name). I've been lucky enough to meet a lot of professional athletes and while some of them are very grounded, none were as nice and honestly caring as Don Cherry. Plus his rock 'em sock 'em techno CD's rule z

How about the fact that they charge an ass-ton for tickets. I was going to go to the January 2nd game with my wife, here's the cost: 113A 9 - 10 Price Level 2 Type Full Price All Ages Ticket Ticket Price US $325.75 x 2 Price Details Facility Charge US $4.25 x 2 Convenience Charge US $18.60 x 2 SUBTOTAL US $697.20 really? 700 for 2 tickets at an arena that can barely fill seats?

O'Hallaran - Default call is 'interference'?
zetterdawg replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
Maybe Gaborik should have been called for his "interference" on Hasek... http://www.njdevs.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34457 remember that one? Hasek was just trying to make a save when stupid Gaborik skates right into him (on purpose!) and then does an almost 360 flip. -
that's awesome. He looks happy (or smug?) to be wearing that custom jersey.

Anyone else dress their pets up for the game?

Henrik Zetterdawg says Wings 3, Dallas 2
-
Wings 5, Stars 1 due to the wings winning most of their faceoffs. FACEOFF!
-
My wife is losing her s**t laughing at the scotty bowman comment. She agrees. When we got him it was Hank Vs. Pavel on the name. Hank FTW! How awesome does a wife have to be to name HER dog after a wing? She's also the same wife that got me tickets to one of the last games StevieY played at the Joe - and we're living in California! GO WINGS!

Hi everyone, This is my first post! My Dog - Henrik Zetterdawg. Named 5 years ago before Hank was "the man". I hope he helps the wings win the game. cheers, z
