Detroit Red Wings hockey...is there anything else? Okay, I do enjoy bowling, golf and reading as well. I'm also a college football junkie and season-ticket holder for my hometown Boise State Broncos.

I think it will be 4-2 Wings. Good to see DMac in the lineup Can't wait to see the Winter Classic gear too

In response to the original question, "How can MLB be more popular than the NHL?" I would say history, and the way more Americans identify with baseball through personal experience with the game. Bottom line...lack of television exposure is what kills the NHL in America. Baseball is on Fox, TBS, ESPN and your local RSN; frankly, you're bombarded with it. Out here in Idaho, I have to subscribe to a top tier satellite service to get Versus to watch the national broadcasts and then drop the coin for Center Ice to watch the Wings regularly. If I didn't spend the money, I'd be left with the 10 games NBC so graciously puts on the air in a bad Saturday afternoon time slot that would otherwise be left for infomercials. I do get the Avalanche games through my local RSN, but even I don't love hockey enough to watch the turnips night-in and night-out. Hockey on Versus My monthly satellite bill Hockey on ESPN

I give Helm props for his effort last night. He had more jump than most of the guys on the ice. If I don't see more from Kopecky soon, I'd like to see Helm stay up with the Wings.

I've always found the third jersey to be marketing/jersey sales item more than anything. I don't know about anyone else here, but I'm superstitous with my jerseys. I always wear red when we're at home and white when we're on the road. I like the fact I always know what my team will be wearing on any given night. Also, it's undeniable that many of the NHL third jerseys over the years have been fashion punchlines. Keep the classic and simple look. No need for a third jersey.

I'm not going to be too critical four games into the season. They have played some very un-Red Wings like hockey with the turnovers and lack of defensive discipline, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they came out and played a flawless game against the Rangers tomorrow night. Babcock won't let the sloppy play continue for long. Hey, at least we're off to a better start than Anaheim
