#2495409 A great scrap ends in....A high five and a hug?

Guys like Dave Brown or Bob Probert would never get that theatrical after a fight.  I realize it's a job and some of these guys are close friends, but this is making the whole thing look like a joke.

The whole thing is a joke.  It just takes some people longer to get it than others.

#2494819 If Kronwall isn't a #1

Posted by Son of a Wing on 12 March 2014 - 02:21 PM

Yes +/-is  flawed stat, I understand that and said so. but lets also look at it correctly. prir to becoming a "top pair" guy a typical Kronwall year was 30ish pointsand +7. Now he is a 50ish point guy with a - rating. He is getting more minutes, more PP time, and far more shifts with our top forward line. yet his D is worse overall. yes losing Stuart-who everyone agreed was a #4 Dman hurt. Kronwall is simply not a #1 guy. Even in this very thread others are talking about he needs to be paired with...... #1 Dmen don't need to be paired with others to be great. They are great and make others around them better. Kronwall doesn't.

BTW, anyone who says, and I quote: "Quincey gets to much heat from fans on this forum..... wouldn't mind him back at a lower salary" has no room to talk about the quality of any Dman in hockey.

Gus Gus is a class act, did his time in GR without a peep, honed his skills and now... he's found his niche with the best team in the NHL.  I couldn't be more proud.

His point numbers don't surprise me, but his goals sure do. Who would have thought that only 16 players would have more goals than him? If he keeps up his pace the past 10 or 15 games, scoring 40 isn't out of the question. We'll see what happens when Stamkos comes back, though.

What can you do? If a guy is given a contract to sign and he dosnt sign it you can't make him sign it.

Good for him though, sucks for us that the guy we got to take his spot hasn't really shown up yet.

Yes exactly. I always liked Fillpula a lot and this is also a case of 'you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone'. He was a very good fit in our system even if there was obviously something wrong with him last year. I will not give up on Weiss until we see if the surgery helped him get back to 100%, but it's certainly looking like Weiss isn't a good fit at all.

Unlike a lot of other people I don't wish bad things on the players that leave the Wings, and certainly not great guys like Fil. I wish him continued success and will continue to miss him in a Wings uniform.

Good luck Finnish Wing, it's been a good game and no matter who wins this I am happy there are two Scandinavian teams in the final, we has great youth development programs now in both countries.

#2462433 What Are You Playing?

Posted by Jedi on 09 December 2013 - 12:26 AM

My job allows us to read at our desks when things get slow, and as such I've been reading the Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) series.  The book series (as I'm sure many of you know) is fantastic, and has had me REALLY wanting to play a game that was in the same genre as ASOIAF...

So, after being pretty much severely burned out on Skyrim in June, I finally swung back around and pulled it out of the box again.  Still had a few things to finish up in Dawnguard, and still have the civil war to finish, and several other miscellaneous quests.

Even after all this time, this game is STILL lights-out.  The only other game I've ever spent this much time in was Final Fantasy X.

Apparently, looking like Leonidas from 300 doesn't scream leadership enough.

I predict this will ultimately result in the creation of an entirely new sort of pest/agitator: the tucker. His sole purpose: to tuck the opposition's jerseys, twice. Or several times. Or dozens of times.

Just started up a Mass Effect Trilogy run.  Starting from scratch with a brand new character, complete with a face code I found online (backwards-converted to ME1 using a converter I also found online).

So, yeah, gonna be on ME for awhile now...
