So, what's wrong with Larsson?

#2104192 Nabokov claimed by NYI, refuses to report, suspended

"I dont see why somebody who has this opportunity would not want to play and fulfill his contract," Wang said. "It's nuts, right? I don't understand any of it."

Hmm, lets see... Maybe it's because you're the...

ISLANDERS!!!!! : DDD

And if he doesn't report, then what?

Either Isles waive him which probably eventually leads to Wings getting him. Or they keep his 570k salary and get nothing but bad reputation among Meehan's other clients.

I mean if it were the Sharks or Blackhawks - just to prevent Detroit from getting him - it wouldn't been such a big deal. But cmon the ISLANDERS? : DDD

Garth Snow is a real player, I gotta tell ya.

Good Job Garth Snow. I'm sure this helped a lot in your future attemps of getting good FA's signed.

#2030045 Power Forwards

Posted by Finnish Wing on 29 August 2010 - 10:19 AM

LOL. Why would PIMs have anything to do with being a power forward? Power forward is a player who plays physically to create offense. PIMs are only evidence of taking penalties; you get penalties when you're too slow and need to hook for example. Fights are not needed either. Zetterberg isn't a power forward. Nash is. Nash mostly uses his size and physical game to create offense. Zetterberg is more of a skill-guy. I wouldn't call Steve Downie a power forward though, yet. You still need to be able to get more than 50 points at least in this league to be called one.

#2023100 Willie Mitchell

As it's been discussed before - Kindl isn't exactly turning heads in GR...Yes he is improving - yet he's not exactly the guy many of us want to see paired with an already inexperienced Ericsson.

I'd much rather see a guy back there that has several years of NHL experience alongside Ericsson.

As said already. We dont have to pair Kindl and Ericsson together.

Lidstrom-Kronwall
Ericsson-Rafalski
Stuart-Kindl

Lidstrom-Ericsson
Stuart-Rafalski
Kronwall-Kindl

Lidstrom-Rafalski
Kronwall-Kindl
Stuart-Ericsson

etc. etc. etc.

There are numerous options.

Agreed.

Me thinks if a nasty stay at home Dman is added - it'll give Ericsson some confidence, and an idea of how to use his size effectively.

And Kindl - one of our top prospects - would sit on the press box. YAYY! Talk about being shortsighted.

#2012942 Shea Weber named Nashville Captain

I would have preferred Wade Belak.

#2012478 Brett Lebda signs with Toronto

I don't think he got that much overpaid. It's just that Holland always signs these bargain deals. Lebda was easily worth at least 1m on the market.

Now we can't get Kovalchuk. DAMN!

OKT will be huge for us next season.

#2006293 Top Forwards Set to Hit to Market

Posted by Finnish Wing on 28 June 2010 - 06:10 PM

That's probably from the contract that he had with Florida (was it) before being dealt to Calgary then NYR.

I could be wrong, or maybe there was a stop in Phoenix as well.

He left Florida as a free agent. And he was over a ppg guy back then. Phoenix game him that contract, I think.

For the rumours saying he's useless and going to KHL... I think there's still use for a 50-60 point 2nd line center in many teams, if he comes for 2.5-3.5m.

#2006088 Eurotwins to be reunited

Posted by Finnish Wing on 28 June 2010 - 11:44 AM

Those lines are pretty good. I'd have Helm on the 3rd line and Abby centering the 4th though, since Helm is easily the better hockey player right now. Can't wait for the new season to begin, it feels like it's been forever since I watched a Wings game.

Abdelkader has better offensive potential than Helm, let's not waste it on the 4th line.

No, Filppula is on the second line.

hoho

Hey cmon, I'm Finnish and even I think Hudler has more offensive potential at the NHL level than Filppula.
