The other night hillbillywingsfan hosted the GDT and it seemed that although our new GDT is just awesome, it went over pretty well. I was just wondering that since we seem to be playing like a minor league team, what would some other interesting "theme nights" be. Of course I am all for the throwback mullet night but that would just be a rehash of our hillbilly night. What are some of your ideas?

Best way to solve a junk PK, block the shots or get the hell out of the way so Howard can see them. Done.

I don't think Brunner at the point is the answer.  Yes he has a good point shot, but he is too valueable from the circles on in.  And we don't need the defensive liability that goes along with him being there.  Hell, he's valuable just hiding out next to the net on the goal line cherry picking.

 

Yes, it was a different look, something to try, but I hope we move away from it.  Between Kronner, Smith, Ericsson, and Quincey, any of those guys should be good enough while White is out.

 

I'm thinking this has morphed into a ST's thread, not just a PK thread...

Why exactly is he at the point.  With his skill set as a pure goal scorer and his moves, wouldn't we want him more mobile instead of static at the point?

And we miss the playoffs by one point.

 

Sorry for my pessimism, I'm just pissed right now.  The 2nd and 3rd were ours!  I don't blame Brunner, I blame the whole team and coaching staff.

How is it that our offense can't outshine our depleted defense?  I just can't process that.  I want to have a tantrum.  Is that manly?

So, I predict that we will (win/lose) and that half of LGW will wring their hands and point out that "it's only one game" whilst the other half gloats and says, "Ha!  I told you so!"

 

Don't go out on a limb there or anything.  LOL.  At least if we go to a SO, we have Bert.  I wish we could carry 1 extra man just for shootouts, like a DH in baseball.

I'd have to disagree with you there. Kronner offensive, Quincey offensive, Smith sure as hell offensive, White is alittle 2-way, Ericsson is prone to being more offensive but has regressed to defense more the past few seasons. I'd tend to think the majority of our defensemen are offensively minded with the lack of stay-at-home, defensive defensemen. Stuart was our main stay-at-home guy, and we lost him. 

Quincey IS offensive.  Just not because of his offense.

Does anyone expect any mix matching tonight with the lines?

 

I want to say Babcock made only one or two changes during the game on Sat night.

I say the top line stays the same.  Maybe some tinkering on the others.  But what do I know?
