#2518185 Next Seasons Needs/Team Future

Posted by wings7 on 29 April 2014 - 12:57 PM

Holland's done plenty of good things. And some bad. Just like Bowman. Just like pretty much everyone who has dipped a toe in NHL waters.

Around these parts, I would argue he doesn't get enough credit. I tend to try and evaluate his work over larger periods of time that, IMO, have yet to expire.

We just disagree.

In the salary cap era. Holland has made a ton of bad moves.

Also, I'm not sure Scotty can be compared to Holland.

And not everyone has done some good and some bad. It's not that black and white.

Listening/Reading Holland's comments today instills no confidence that this team will be better next year.

I love how +/- is your only argument on deciding whether Kronwall is a top pairing or second pairing defenseman. This is just one of many reasons why nobody is taking you serious.

You don't have to take me serious. I know how much I know about hockey and ultimately that's good enough for me. This is af****** online forum. Chill out dude. (No you chill out, you just said the f-word). Fine you don't want +/-, fine. What do you want? Every game in the playoffs Kronwall wasn't our best player. Wasn't our best defenseman. He said so himself. He is better against the other team's second line. PERIOD. GIRL TIME. BLOOD.

#2517938 What Happened to Nyquist?

Posted by wings7 on 28 April 2014 - 09:41 AM

Few want to listen to this advice. They love Gus. They love Tatar. The Wings will never ice a decent team again if one of them is packaged for a bigger, gritty forward that can score.

Yes, that last sentence was sarcasm.

Am I the only one who remembers the manhandling the Devils gave to the Wings in '95? It looked and felt a lot like this series against the Bruins. Changes had to be made after '95, even though the team had reached the Finals. And we all know how that worked out long term.

You know we reached the 8th seed this year. Lost in the first round in 5 games?

#2517927 Injury Updates

Posted by wings7 on 28 April 2014 - 09:02 AM

Totally agree on Dats. I have faith that he'll do what's best to be ready for the season.

I'm excited to see what Weiss does next year. I really do think he turns it around.

We'll have Dats, Hank, Weiss and Helm who can all finally come into training camp at 100%. That makes this team very strong down the middle even if Hank and Pasha play together.

I don't think this team has as many issues as some think. Being healthy is key along with bolstering the blue line so we can avoid Kindl and Lashoff. Up front I say go with the kids, and address any needs at the deadline (unless an opportunity presents itself to bring in a UFA this summer).

After 24 games last season, while we were a healthy Red Wings team, we were a whooping 12-14...It's more than injuries that are slowing us down from winning a Cup...

#2514115 Redwings crowd tonight

Posted by wings7 on 22 April 2014 - 09:31 PM

This is what I was afraid of man ! Crowd is so f***en and there's so much hockey left as much as we have sucked so far !

Wake the f*** up!!! If I spent all that cash I'd lose my voice by the end of the game

So spend it bud.

Sorry but if you spend the money, you get to do what you want with it.

Don't talk the talk if you can't afford to walk the walk.

#2512770 Lines/Lineup changes for Game 3 (Home game 1)?

Posted by wings7 on 20 April 2014 - 09:27 PM

What are your thoughts?

Change anything?

Personally, I'd like to see Dats get a better lineup and the original kid line back together.

Also, Bert and Anderson in, Alfie and Glendening out.

Nyquist - Datsyuk - Abdelkader

Tatar - Sheahan - Jurco

Franzen - Helm - Bertuzzi

Miller - Legwand - Anderson

Point leaders says "Chicago Blackhawks" FYI.

Go Wings!

My nipples are so hard right now.

I hate this second line, of Abs-Cleary-Dats. There's only one guy on that line I enjoy watching.

Franzen is useless. Did you see him just watch the loose puck on our blue line and not go after it to get it out?

It'd be nice for Filppula to shoot that there...shoot that ever...just take a shot once in a game in that situation...

...Howard with a "Hasek against Col. Game 6 in 2002" type of save.

Because there were about 4 people withing a few feet of him that didn't quite want him to get that shot off.

I'm f-ing pissed off right now and emotional so take this how you want - but you're being a f-ing moron right now.

Go rewind the tape. Then take the Filppula composite out of your butthole and stop defending his broke butt.

#1920160 3/20 GDT: Red Wings 4 at Canucks 3 (OT)

When Zetterberg and Filppula are only average offensively, this team doesn't have enough to compete with the NHL's elite. We are just a mediocre team at best without them. It's too easy on other team's defenses - they only worry about one line...

Nope.

Jimmy needs to learn to dive for calls to prevent goals/kill offense. It's my biggest gripe with his goaltending this year.

You're joking right? Real classy. Plus, if he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt he'll be out of position + gain a bad reputation.

Great respect for the game you have.

I hate when the further away ref makes a call. That should not be allowed.
