#2595233 Game Two - Honest Discussion

Posted by wings7 on Yesterday, 12:30 PM

The idea that we should say "No one played good at forward" does not excuse Tatar and Nyquist…That's crazy.

#2595204 Game Two - Honest Discussion

Posted by wings7 on Yesterday, 11:34 AM

Let's talk honest.

What do the Wings need to do in Game 2 if they want to come home up 2-0.

I know I'll get flamed for this, because that's what ppl do, but benching either Tatar or Nyquist, who were both basically benched in the third last night, would maybe help light a spark. Bring in Cleary. We need someone who is not afraid to get hit and can clear the puck out of our zone.

I'd play Kindl over Marchenko at this point. He's more offensive.

What are your thoughts?

My lines for Game 2.

Z - Pav - Helm

Nyq - Sheahan - Jurko

Miller - Glendening - Andersson

Cleary - Weiss - Ferraro

Kronwall - E

Kindl - Quincey

Dekeyser - Zids

#2593235 Why so negative?

Posted by wings7 on 14 April 2015 - 04:37 PM

(Not sure how to directly reply or quote)

Roboturner: This isn't a casino, this is a fan boosting site called lets go wings.

I just don't see the point in taking time out of your day to predict negative outcomes against your team, on your teams fan website.

It's like wearing a Tampa Bay jersey this Thursday because probability suggests they are more likely to win?

This is the stupidest thing I've ever read.

#2593187 S'matter Yzerman, afraid of the jersey you wore for so long?

Posted by wings7 on 14 April 2015 - 11:51 AM

You know how easy it is to get tickets still? I will fight every Lightning fan in that building that is a girl.

Restrict the tickets all you want.

My dad and I already got two for the potential Game 5 off stub hub. Most likely flying down that Friday night before.

Oh, and we'll probably both wear jerseys.

Now how to sneak an octopus onto a plane….

#2592999 Babcock: Petr Mrazek is starting Game 1

Posted by wings7 on 13 April 2015 - 03:23 PM

St James tweeted that she asked to speak with him and Wings PR people told her he had already left the building.

It probably is better to go vent and collect your thoughts someplace else. I don't blame him for being pissed.

Doesn't mean anything. Just means he left. Let's not speculate. Don't you ever leave work before the media finds you?

#2592871 Red Wings' playoff lines and priorities

Why would you split back up Dats and Z. They have been playing great together as always.

UGH!

#2591914 Defending Champs Eliminated

Posted by wings7 on 10 April 2015 - 01:39 AM

I fully understand and comprehend his post.

Your post is literally agreeing with me as far as the substance, but you are making it sound like you are not. I am saying that in today's NHL there is such parity that a few players can make the world of difference. If you are saying that without Kronwall & Qunicey we dont make the playoffs, that reinforces my point.

The LA Kings lost 2 D-men, and had Richards decline and went from Champs, to not even top 16

You are saying that if the Wings lost 2 major players it would put them out of the playoffs, which I think is true (though I think if Marchenko or Oulete came in for Q we would be okay). But I also think if they added a couple (lets say Boychuk & JoeThonton) they could be a front runner for the Cup. My point isnt about the Wings, its about the parity of today's NHL.

Okay fair. I suppose. It's confusing in your initial post. But I'm clear on it now. My bad.

#2591913 Definition of a real fan

Posted by wings7 on 10 April 2015 - 01:37 AM

2.an implement of feathers, leaves, paper, cloth, etc., often in the shape of a long triangle or of a semicircle, for waving lightly in the hand to create a cooling current of air about a person:

"We sat on the veranda, cooling ourselves with palm fronds. You know, the real fans, not those fair-weather poser fans that have to be turned on and are only cool when they're near the ceiling."

I hate and love that you decided to respond like this hahaha

I have an authentic Larry Murphy jersey.

I'm in, right?

Only if you can get him back in the FSD booth....thoughts?

#2589902 Joe Louis Arena Game Entertainment

Besides having a team that is playing poorly, so is the music man, and the sponsorship man and the intermission man. BORING.

I'm going tomorrow still hahaha.

#2589802 Tatar and Nyquist and Sheahan LINE

Posted by wings7 on 06 April 2015 - 10:34 AM

I think it's time to bring back the kid line. Hide them as our third line.

I think I've had enough of the Tatar and Nyquist experiment. They are not reliable in our own zone. They wait way too long to shoot the puck or make a decision.

It's one thing to score in October and November, it's entirely different to do it in the spring.

They need a spark.

Z - Pav - Abs

Cole - Helm - Jurco

Tatar - Sheahan - Nyquist

Glendening - Andersson - Miller

#2589737 Who do you hope the Wings play in the 1st Round?

Posted by wings7 on 05 April 2015 - 10:02 PM

You have to beat the best to win it all. Doesn't matter who we play. I'd love it if we took on Tampa in the first round, Montreal in the second, Rangers in the CF, and the Blues, Hawks, or Preds in the SCF. If this team's gonna win, let's win in style against the best teams. I don't want a consolation second round exit just because we got stuck with an easy first round matchup.

What are you talking about haha.

#2518185 Next Seasons Needs/Team Future

Posted by wings7 on 29 April 2014 - 12:57 PM

Holland's done plenty of good things. And some bad. Just like Bowman. Just like pretty much everyone who has dipped a toe in NHL waters.

Around these parts, I would argue he doesn't get enough credit. I tend to try and evaluate his work over larger periods of time that, IMO, have yet to expire.

We just disagree.

In the salary cap era. Holland has made a ton of bad moves.

Also, I'm not sure Scotty can be compared to Holland.

And not everyone has done some good and some bad. It's not that black and white.

Listening/Reading Holland's comments today instills no confidence that this team will be better next year.

I love how +/- is your only argument on deciding whether Kronwall is a top pairing or second pairing defenseman. This is just one of many reasons why nobody is taking you serious.

You don't have to take me serious. I know how much I know about hockey and ultimately that's good enough for me. This is af****** online forum. Chill out dude. (No you chill out, you just said the f-word). Fine you don't want +/-, fine. What do you want? Every game in the playoffs Kronwall wasn't our best player. Wasn't our best defenseman. He said so himself. He is better against the other team's second line. PERIOD. GIRL TIME. BLOOD.

#2517938 What Happened to Nyquist?

Posted by wings7 on 28 April 2014 - 09:41 AM

Few want to listen to this advice. They love Gus. They love Tatar. The Wings will never ice a decent team again if one of them is packaged for a bigger, gritty forward that can score.

Yes, that last sentence was sarcasm.

Am I the only one who remembers the manhandling the Devils gave to the Wings in '95? It looked and felt a lot like this series against the Bruins. Changes had to be made after '95, even though the team had reached the Finals. And we all know how that worked out long term.

You know we reached the 8th seed this year. Lost in the first round in 5 games?
