#2605235 Sigh, having a relapse of irritation

Also, Dekeyser was so far out of position, it caused Miller to have to swing down to cover the front of the net and he ended up leaving his point man wide open. Then Dekeyser screened the goalie.

#2605234 Things you would like to see for 2015-16 Season

Posted by wings7 on 01 May 2015 - 12:15 AM

I really love seeing all the "We need the kids to play. We need to be faster."

Oh yeah?

Who do you think has played the last two years? How'd that work out for us?

"Youth and enthusiasm will only take you so far." - Brett Hull (Hockeytown 3)

We need to teach these guys to play.

Why is Datsyuk so much better? Oh, I don't know. Scotty. Shanahan. Yzerman. Federov. They were at the tail end of their careers...

No one probably remembers this but in 2002 Datsyuk missed an assignment against Colorado. They scored. He never saw the ice the rest of the game.

Now I know a lot of you are just begging to see the Detroit Griffins, but newsflash, the NHL isn't the AHL.

How'd Pulk look when he came up? And is Mantha just lights out right now in the minors?

Give me a break. Think about what you're saying.

Someone else wrote on here, "No free agent is guaranteed." That logic applies to prospects, too. i.e. Everyone who was drafted before Datsyuk who is probably not as good.

We need to try and win a Cup every single year. That's the goal. If you're not about that, then move to Nashville. They make the playoffs a lot. Whoop-dy Freaking Doo.

I'd like to see the Wings use these "great" prospects that they supposedly have to get some real men that know the NHL and are guaranteed to play well for us.

#2604753 At What Point Does Holland Deserve Blame?

Posted by wings7 on 29 April 2015 - 10:42 PM

3 out of the last 4 seasons have ended in the first round.

Holland is the person who puts these teams together.

Does he deserve no blame?

Or does he only get recognition when things go well?

#2604701 Who is the coach next season?

Todd M.

Blashill.

Granato.

What are you trying to start?

What should Holland be blamed for exactly?

The embarrassment of prospects the Wings have stock-piled despite a top 10 pick in 24 years?

But at least we made the playoffs with those kids right?

I love first round exits!!!

I'm going off on Twitter. I have 4 followers. It's all happening.

I just watched it three times again.

Is it just me or was it not even that bad?

Havlat was worse...

A discussion…Ha.

Most of the prospects exist on many teams. i.e. Tampa Bay's T. Johnson.

How about overpaying for Quincey?

Resigned Cleary twice.

Overpaid and signed Franzen and Howard.

Zidlicky is struggling badly.

Nyquist looks small and lost out there.

Never planned for Lidstrom's and Rafalski's departures.

Didn't figure out a way to keep Hossa.

Stephen Weiss is on the team but doesn't dress.

Does any of that ring a bell? Bother you?

Nobody is perfect.

Even though we haven't been a favorite to win the Cup since 2009 - the Wings at least make the post season, and have been for many years.

Not sure who's out there that would be any better.

Thanks for your post.

I guess I just don't understand when the bar in Detroit became making the postseason. That seems awfully low for a franchise with 11 Stanley Cup banners.

Nobody is perfect but GMs have been fired for way less than Holland.

Boston for instance. Been to two finals, with 1 victory since 09.

I guess the real issue is, are the Wings moving in the right direction?

Holland deserves blame? Revolutionary

Not exactly sure what you're trying to start. But thanks for posting anyways.

I'm not saying it's revolutionary. It'd be revolutionary for action to be taken though.

I'm wondering if it's time.

#2602603 why marek zidlicky?

Posted by wings7 on 28 April 2015 - 09:16 AM

He was a solid addition at first, but he's been a disaster in the playoffs. It's unbelievable how bad of luck Holland has with trades and free agency. Even when he seemingly does something right, it has a tendency of blowing up in his face.

It's not bad luck when you only make bad moves...

Why are they looking at it? No penalty. No injury. I'm confused. So much in the NHL goes unnoticed or unreviewed.

Hmm.

#2595233 Game Two - Honest Discussion

The idea that we should say "No one played good at forward" does not excuse Tatar and Nyquist…That's crazy.

#2595204 Game Two - Honest Discussion

Posted by wings7 on 17 April 2015 - 11:34 AM

Let's talk honest.

What do the Wings need to do in Game 2 if they want to come home up 2-0.

I know I'll get flamed for this, because that's what ppl do, but benching either Tatar or Nyquist, who were both basically benched in the third last night, would maybe help light a spark. Bring in Cleary. We need someone who is not afraid to get hit and can clear the puck out of our zone.

I'd play Kindl over Marchenko at this point. He's more offensive.

What are your thoughts?

My lines for Game 2.

Z - Pav - Helm

Nyq - Sheahan - Jurko

Miller - Glendening - Andersson

Cleary - Weiss - Ferraro

Kronwall - E

Kindl - Quincey

Dekeyser - Zids

#2593235 Why so negative?

Posted by wings7 on 14 April 2015 - 04:37 PM

(Not sure how to directly reply or quote)

Roboturner: This isn't a casino, this is a fan boosting site called lets go wings.

I just don't see the point in taking time out of your day to predict negative outcomes against your team, on your teams fan website.

It's like wearing a Tampa Bay jersey this Thursday because probability suggests they are more likely to win?

This is the stupidest thing I've ever read.
