The image quality went down because an iPad's resolution is a LOT larger than 1024 x 1024. First of all, the screen isn't a square. The image should be made (or cropped) to 1024 x 768. And when you save or export it, make the resolution go up to 300dpi. It should come out clear, crisp, and from what you did make- pretty sexy too. Haha.
