Kalamazoo Wings leave IHL

02 June 2009 - 06:47 AM

Some of us on the West side of the state have been to a K-Wings game at one point or another, the K-Wings were once an affiliate of the Red Wings.

Well the K-Wings just announced that they are pulling out of the International Hockey League..
K-WINGS WITHDRAWING FROM IHL

Kinda sad to see them go, although as a Griffins fan, I've never really liked the K-Wings, but they've been a staple in hockey on the west side of the state for 35 years.

Their future is kinda up in the air, they've basically said that they will be playing hockey this season, but in what league nobody knows. The games vs. Fort Wayne and Muskegon were always fun to watch.

Games going to be easier to watch

Well as it turns out, games on Versus will be easier to watch from now on...

Those ads for "Freecreditreport.com" are all pulled.

The reason.... IT'S NOT FREE!!!!

Best Game 7

15 May 2009 - 06:03 PM

Ok, Wings fans

Which Game 7 did you prefer.

1996 - Western Conference Semifinals - Red Wings 1, St. Louis 0 (2OT)
Yzerman steals the puck from Gretzky and scores over the shoulder of Casey.

2002 - Western Conference Finals - Red Wings 7, Colorado 0
The Wings score four times in the first and coast to a 7-0 win, chasing Patrick Roy and sending the Wings to the Cup finals against the Hurricanes

2009 - Western Conference Semi Finals - Red Wings 4, Anaheim 3
Wings jump out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Hudler and Darren Helm's breakaway. Dan Cleary's goal with three minutes left sends the Wings to the conference finals

All I can say is...

You go Mike. He's never really been given the accolades that he really deserves. Spent his entire career with the Stars franchise.

Poor Crosby / Double Standard

04 May 2009 - 10:15 PM

Crosby was asked about Oveckin's hat trick tonight, his response.

'"People kept throwing hats," Sidney Crosby said tonight. "I was just asking if he could make an announcement to ask them to stop. I mean, the first wave came and then I think they were all pretty much picked up, and then more started coming. So for us, we just wanted to make sure we kept kind of moving and kept the game going, wanted to try to get back in it. So wasn't complaining about anything."

Shut the hell up you whiny ass crybaby. How about don't give up the hat trick and you don't have to worry about it.
