The second half was and is still true. You can have both as needs. -
Andersson is rather poor at anything but faceoffs and PK, but this isn't the ideal time to lose another center with four out already. It never ends with this team. It's not even possible to think about the what ifs of being fully healthy because it will never occur. More Emmerton now, I assume? Awesome.

How can you put up stats like those and never make a clutch save? The goalie is struggling now and defense is still atrocious, just like last season. Except Jimmy hasn't been able to bail them out as often.

What has Jimmy done since those three left? 2.13 GAA, .923 save percentage last regular season. Easily the biggest reason the Red Wings made the playoffs at all. Followed that up with a 2.44 GAA and .924 save percentage against the top two seeds in the West. Mind you, all in front of a makeshift defense. So nothing, if you only want to look at Jimmy's struggles this season like he has never bailed the Red Wings out before or proven his worth.

Same save percentage, Howard's GAA is slightly higher. Monster's goaltending isn't why the team wins more with him playing, especially recently.

You can't clamor for Monster to start when he's out injured, like usual. The Wings had no jump today and generated nothing offensively. That's not on Howard.

The Wings would blow this lead, so maybe they can be on the opposite side for once. Not very optimistic about that actually happening.

This has shutout written all over it again at MSG. Just not generating any real sustained pressure on Lundqvist. Tough circumstances with the schedule and start time, but hopefully they can dig deep and steal a win.

How does this jackass homer still get to call national broadcasts? He can't even hide his bias.

Is scoring seven goals something the goalies control? I do agree the team wins more with Monster, but I'm not sure that's a direct reflection of his goaltending.

Hard to do when you get injured every time you make a start. Plus, he gave up four last game anyways. This defense is horrendous. Lashoff and Smith were just spectating on the goal.

Trade Legwand to Detroit for Eaves, Jarnkrok + cond 3rd/2nd

Legwand still may ultimately end up centering the third line if Pav and Weiss ever come back, this season or if Legwand sticks around. Not that he is a third line quality center (though, I would say second is more appropriate than first), but that's where he might be slotted given the Red Wings depth up the middle. Playing with Mule and Gus doesn't hurt his cause right now either. -
Nice win! Huge two points in the standings. Defense is still sketchy, but the forwards have played with energy and produced the past two nights. Happy for Legwand and he seems to be fitting right in so far.

What could this forward group do if everyone got healthy? Scary depth. They might even score enough to overcome the awful defense.

Q! What a sick pass by Sheahan. He's so much better as a playmaker and finisher than I anticipated. Nice fight from this group to not quit after falling behind. They have serious flaws, but effort isn't one of them.

Gus! Him and Mule are carrying this team right now. Legwand has looked good too tonight. The Wings are bound to give up more, but at least they are scoring.
